The Quang Tri Combat Base (also known as the Ai Tu Combat Base) was a major U.S. Marine Corps, Army, and South Vietnamese military facility established in Quang Tri Province to support operations just south of the Demilitarized Zone. Built around an airstrip, the installation functioned as a critical logistics, aviation, and staging hub for regional combat missions throughout the Vietnam War. Later handed over to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, it became the focal point of intense, historic battles during both the 1968 Tet Offensive and the fierce 1972 Easter Offensive.
