Hien Luong Bridge & Ben Hai River

The Ben Hai River in central Vietnam is famous for serving as the military demarcation line, along the 17th parallel, that temporarily divided North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. Spanning this significant river is the Hien Luong Bridge, which became the most potent symbol of a nation divided for over two decades. The bridge itself was once dramatically painted in two contrasting colors—one for each side—reflecting the ideological conflict and separation. Today, the restored bridge and river banks stand as a special national historical relic site, representing the Vietnamese people’s enduring desire for peace and reunification. See more details

Vinh Moc Tunnels

The Vinh Moc Tunnels are an extensive underground village complex in central Vietnam, built by local civilians to shelter from intense American bombing during the Vietnam War. Spanning nearly two kilometers across three deep levels, the tunnels functioned as a fully operational community, complete with family quarters, kitchens, a medical station, and a meeting hall. They famously protected over 300 villagers, with 17 children born safely underground, and also served as a vital supply route to Con Co Island. Today, the Vinh Moc Tunnels stand as a remarkable testament to the resilience and unwavering determination of the Vietnamese people. See more details
