What to Expect in Ba Na Hills Beer Festival?

Ba Na Hills beer festival takes place throughout the year around Beer Plaza, an open square in the French Village. This square has lots of large wooden tables and chairs for couples, groups, and families to sit down and enjoy eating/drinking. In the rainy season, between October and February, umbrellas are always equipped to cover. In the middle of the Beer Plaza, there is a big statue of Gambrinus, a legendary European culture hero celebrated as an icon of beer and brewing. Every adult visitor will receive free beer coupons at cable car stations during Ba Na Hills Beer Festival.

During Ba Na Hills beer festival, which occurs both day and night, visitors have the chance to watch impressive performances from professional dancers who live in different countries (happening many times a day if the weather is good), to take photos with international artists, to drink German draught beers (especially SunKraft beer made right in Ba Na Hills), to try German sausages and other dishes (breads, barbecues,…) as well as to socialize with friends from anywhere in the world.

A short walk from Ba Na Hills beer festival, visitors can go to Ba Na Brew House to see and learn about German beer brewing techniques. This brewery was opened in August 2024, and has been a must see place for adult tourists. During the day, live music and games are arranged to give a nice experience to drinkers.

Tips to Visit Ba Na Hills Beer Festival

– In the dry season, from February to the end of August, visitors should bring sun cream, hat/cap/umbrella, sun glasses, and bottles of water to drink. 

– In the rainy season, from September to January, visitors should bring rain poncho/jacket or umbrella, sandals or waterproof shoes. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast usually when traveling during this period.

How to Get to Beer Plaza at Ba Na Hills

The Beer Plaza is located in the French Village at Ba Na Hills, Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang Vietnam. The distance to this park from Da Nang city center is nearly 30 kilometers and from Hoi An is around 50 kilometers.

From Da Nang or Hoi An, visitors can take a car/minivan/bus or ride the motorbike to Ba Na Hills. If going by car, the drive is 40-60 mins from Da Nang city center and over 1 hour from Hoi An. To save a bit, riding a motorbike is a good option.

In Ba Na Hills, the quickest cable car to the Beer Plaza is from the Toc Tien Waterfall Station or Champa Station. The ride from here is 15-20 minutes long. Visitors will arrive at L’Indochine Station or Taiga Station and then can walk to Beer Plaza. From L’Indochine Station, turn right, follow the path to the right of Saint Denis Church, and turn right after seeing the octagonal pavilion. From Taiga Station, turn left and go downhill to see the Beer Plaza.

If take the cable car from Hoi An Station, visitors will land at Golden Hands Bridge. From here, find the shortest/quickest way to the Bordeaux Station and then take the cable car to Louvre Station in the French Village. 

If take the cable car from Suoi Mo Station, visitors will arrive at the Ba Na Station. To go to the Beer Plaza, it’s needed to take the funicular train nearby to reach the hilltop OR take the cable car from Debay Station. If choose the first way, find Bordeaux Station near the Golden Hands Bridge and then take the cable car to Louvre Station in the French Village. The second way is easier. After arriving at the Morin Station, go downstairs and turn right, follow the path to the right of Saint Denis Church, and turn right after seeing the octagonal pavilion.
