Best Places to Watch Sunset on Cham Island Vietnam
The best places to watch the sunset on Cham Island (Hon Lao) will be on the western coast.
Spot 1: Bai Xep Beach: one of the best beaches for swimming, snorkeling,…It’s also very easy to walk from Bai Lang village (the main base) and go back after watching sunset. However, due to no restaurant/bar, visitors need to bring water and even food.
Spot 2: Bai Chong Beach: one of the best beaches for swimming, snorkeling,… It’s nearly halfway between Bai Lang and Bai Huong villages, so no matter which village do you stay, a motorbike ride is needed to get there. If ride the motorbike by yourself, observe carefully when go back to the homestay after sunset (because it’s dark and the road is steep).
Spot 3: Bai Huong (fishing village): visitors need to reach the beachfront or the pier for the best view. During the golden hours, local fishermen go fishing, giving a vibrant scenery.
Spot 4: The coastal road from Bai Lang to Bai Huong: there are viewpoints along this road, so visitors just ride the motorbike from Bai Huong towards Bai Lang (can visit Bai Huong or swim in Bai Chong before sunset).
Spot 5: Bai Ong Beach: one of the best beaches for swimming, snorkeling,…From Bai Lang, visitor can walk or have a short motorbike ride to this place. Visitors can watch sunset from the strand or go to the nearby heliport or go along the seafront road towards Au Thuyen (typhoon shelter).
Spot 6: Bai Lang Pier: this is the nearest spot. During the sunset, this area is free from crowds, bringing a sense of peacefulness. Visitors also have the chance to watch local fishermen catching fish in the golden hour and go squid fishing after dark.
Spot 7: the coastal road near Bai Bac Beach.
Spot 8: the road from Eo Gio down to Bai Lang (can catch an ariel view of Bai Lang village).
To see the sunset on Cham Island, visitors need to stay overnight because all boats will return to Hoi An after 2 pm. The latest boat in the day is at 1:30 pm, so if even stay in Bai Huong (the furthest village), there are many times left.
If don’t stick to a beach (one of beaches mentioned above), the best way to hunt perfect sunset photos are riding the motorbike and finding your own best spot.
