There are old and new, small and large night markets in Hoi An today. The largest and oldest one is ‘Hoi An Night Market’. It’s opened since 1999 when the town was declared to be a Unesco world heritage site. About 150-200 stalls are here, selling a variety of food and souvenirs. On other sides of the town, other night markets are established over time, bringing more choices for tourists. In this article, HoiAn Day Trip Company will introduce Hoi An’s night markets and reveal the best of them all.

If choose a car, let’s tell the driver to drop off in the parking area near the crossroad Hoang Dieu St and Phan Chu Trinh St. From here, follow Hoang Dieu St and then Tran Phu St, and the market is on the left hand side. Cam Pho Night Market
Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hA4PDoyKy37iWRzQ9
Opening hours: 5:30-6 pm to 9-9:30 pm
Cam Pho Night Market (or Cho dem Cam Pho) is a new and small night market in Hoi An Old Town. It includes food and souvenir stalls stretching along Nguyen Du street, between 18 Thang 8 street and Cao Hong Lanh street. During opening hours, cars and motorcycles are banned to go on this stretch of road. Its entrance is on Cao Hong Lanh street, near the Song Hoai Square, a bus parking, a bridge, and a small river. Its name is the same as the ward (Cam Pho ward) where it’s located.
At the Cam Pho Night Market, visitors can find street food stalls where different local dishes are sold at an inexpensive price. There are grilled pork skewers (served with rice papers, raw vegetables, sauce, pickles), grilled seafood, famous Hoi An’s noodles (Cao Lau noodles, Mi Quang noodles), lemongrass pork skewers (nem lui), banh mi sandwich, grilled rice paper (banh trang nuong), fried fish ball skewers, etc. Besides cold canned drinks, visitors can get fresh sugar juice or coconut water (all served with or without ice, upon request).
Seatings at Cam Pho Night Market are arranged along the river, bringing a cool and comfortable atmosphere. Those who are unlike crowds, should come here to try local street foods or have a cold beer.
Things to buy at the Cam Pho Night Market are mostly small and cheap souvenirs, such as handicraft products from local craft villages such as Thanh Ha Pottery Village or Kim Bong Carpentry Village or Non Nuoc Sculpture Village, postcards, embroidery bags, accessories, coconut bowls, chopsticks, dried tropical fruits, dried nuits, local cakes such as coconut cake, mung bean cake, etc. However, this market is not really a paradise for shoppers because there are not many stalls. On the other hand, it’s less crowded here. Shoppers can have a better deal if buy more stuff than busy night markets.
To get to the Cam Pho Night Market from somewhere in Hoi An Old Town, visitors can walk, cycle, get a trishaw, or electric car. The quickest route to this place for pedestrians and bicycle riders is Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa street which runs along the river. From the An Hoi area (the ‘Hoi An Night Market’ here), follow Nguyen Phuc Chu Street (westwards) and then cross the bridge to see its entrance.
From the rest of Hoi An and Da Nang, cars can drop off visitors near the entrance of Cam Pho Night Market. In the market, it’s needed to walk. After spending time here, it’s not necessary to have any vehicle to go to the Hoi An Old Town (such as the Japanese Bridge, lantern boat stations) or the Nguyen Hoang Night Market.
Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Food Night Market
Note: Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Night Market is now closed, and will open again soon. We will update the lastest information on www.hoiandaytrip.com.

Opening hours: 5:30-6 pm to 9-9:30 pm
Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Night Market is a small night market inside the Hoi An Old Town. It includes food, fruit, and souvenir stalls stretching along Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa street which runs along the Hoai River, between the Song Hoai Square and the Japanese Bridge. During this period, cars and motorbikes are prohibited here.
At the Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Night Market, visitors can find street food stalls where different local dishes are sold at an inexpensive price. There are grilled pork skewers (served with rice papers, raw vegetables, sauce, pickles), grilled seafood, famous Hoi An’s noodles (Cao Lau noodles, Mi Quang noodles), Hoi An style chicken rice, lemongrass pork skewers (nem lui), banh mi sandwich, grilled rice paper (banh trang nuong), fried fish ball skewers, etc. Besides cold canned drinks, visitors can get fresh sugar juice or coconut water (all served with or without ice, upon request). Locally-sourced tropical fruits are also seen.
In addition, because some stalls belong to restaurants on the other side of the road, visitors can see their menu and order food from local chefs. If worry about food safety, you should. Eating at this night market is an experience mixed between eating at a classic restaurant and eating at a street food store.
Seatings at the Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Night Market provide the best view in Hoi An. They are set by the river on which lantern boats and floating lanterns (plus lanterns on the opposite bank) show a romantic and sparkling beauty. The air here is cool, laid-back, and comfortable.
If look for some souvenirs, visitors have two options: shopping at stalls on the street or at shops. In small street businesses, cheap and common souvenirs are sold, such as handicraft products, postcards, cakes/snacks, etc. Bargaining is accepted and payment is by cash only. In shops, stuff with a better quality may be found.
To get to the Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa Night Market from somewhere in the Hoi An Old Town, visitors can walk, cycle or get a trishaw. The best way is walking because it’s right in the heart of this Unesco heritage site, especially at night or on weekends. To see its entrance, just head to the Japanese Bridge (a place nobody doesn’t know!) and then go to the wooden walking bridge near it.
From the rest of Hoi An and Da Nang, cars can drop off visitors in the west end of Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa street (or Cao Hong Lanh street, Song Hoai Square). After that, just need to walk for a couple of minutes to see the night market (stalls on the left hand side). If ride the motorcycle, let’s park in Song Hoai Square. The fee is 5,000-10,000 VND/bike/time, and the service is up to 9:30-10 pm.
