Weather in Ba Na Hills from October to January
The period from October to January is the rainy season in Da Nang Hoi An area. During this time, the rainfall is high as it rains everyday and rains heavily on many days. For that reason, Ba Na Hills is often wet, rainy and cloudy. So, visitors should bring rain poncho/jacket or umbrella (poncho is better!), waterproof shoes, light sweater (it may be cold).
Visitors should know that when it rains in the city, it doesn’t mean that the weather at Ba Na Hills is rainy the same. This park perches atop the highest mountain of the area (above 1,400 meters), so the clouds that cause rain are impossible to reach. At the ticket office in the park’s entrance, live weather is shown on the TV screen to let visitors know what actually happens.
Besides the rain, visitors should take note of the typhoon. It causes heavy rains and strong wind in a few days before/after it and then flooding in low areas. Ba Na Hills is located on the top of the mountain, so it will not be flooded but is still heavily rainy and windy. The cable car may be shut down for safety reasons. So, anyway visitors should avoid typhoon days to go to Ba Na Hills.

Is Ba Na Hills Worth Visiting in the Rainy Season?
Although it rains during the rainy season, between October and January, Ba Na Hills is still worth visiting. Here are reasons why:
– During the rainy season, Ba Na Hills is often cloudy. By that, the natural scenery is heaven-like and beautiful to see/photograph. In the beginning or end of the season, it’s less cloudy, allowing visitors to see more mountains and forests. The cable car ride through the cloud to this park is also an interesting experience. Huge castles ride above the clouds. No clouds during the dry season!
– There are many indoor activities and celebrations at Ba Na Hills in the rainy season.
– At Golden Hands Bridge, at an elevation of 1,414 meters, visitors can catch a very fantastic view when standing above a sea of clouds. Here, the weather may change quickly from rainy, densely cloudy, thinly cloudy, no cloud to sunny. Giant hands appear or disappear in the cloud. It’s fun to observe. So, visitors need to be a bit patient to wait for the moment when the bridge is fully ‘shown’ to have the best look and picture. Many people do not know this and walk away with disappointments when could not see everything (when they come, the bridge is soaked into dense clouds).
– The temperature is cooler than the dry season. The air is fresh, unpolluted.
– More tours and transfers to Ba Na Hills to choose for foreign visitors.
