Can You Swim in Sun World Ba Na Hills?
There are many streams, rivers, and waterfalls in Ba Na Hills because it’s situated in the Ba Na – Nui Chua Nature Reserve. The most famous stream is Suoi Mo (the Dream Stream) and the most famous waterfall is Toc Tien Waterfall (the Hair of Fairy Lady Waterfall). Both of these places are around the base of the hills. Sun World Ba Na Hills is also known as the Ba Na – Suoi Mo Tourist Area.
The name Suoi Mo (the Dream Stream) can be found in many areas. In central Vietnam, there is one at Ba Na Hills, Da Nang and one at Lang Co, Hue. It’s possible to go swimming or picnic at Hue’s stream, but impossible for Da Nang’s stream. So many travel bloggers and content creators provided wrong information for visitors.
Before Sun World Ba Na Hills was opened in 2009, locals and visitors could go into Ba Na – Nua Chua Nature Reserve, and then Suoi Mo Stream for swimming and sightseeing. Since this year, the nature reserve has been closed for wildlife protection, and no tourist activities has been allowed. Meaning that nobody can enter and visit today.
Around the top of Ba Na Hills (the theme park area), there is no natural stream or river or waterfall to see. So nowhere visitors can swim. The Helios Waterfall is actually a water fountain.
Water park doesn’t exist in Ba Na Hills too, so no pools, water slides and other water activities. If you seek for them, go to Vinwonders Nam Hoi An or Mikazuki Danang Water Park.
The only place now where visitors can go swimming at Ba Na Hills, is the swimming pool of Mercure Hotel (French Village). La Piscine at the Mercure Danang French Village is a unique indoor, four-season swimming pool maintained at a constant, comfortable 32°C (90°F) to combat the cool mountain air. Open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the facility features a soothing jacuzzi, a dedicated children’s area, and fun guest perks like a unique poolside cinema experience, making it an ideal retreat to unwind after a day of exploring.
The swimming pool of Mercure Bana Hills hotel opens only for guests. There is no ticket to buy and enter this place today.
To swim into natural and clear water streams, visitors should go to Lang Co town, near the foot of Bach Ma National Park. Here, the most popular places are Suoi Mo (the Dream Stream), Nhi Ho (the Two Lakes/Waterfalls), Suoi Voi (the Elephant Stream). Motorbike tours between Hue and Da Nang/Hoi An (‘easy rider tours’) often stop at one of these streams to let their visitors to jump into cool water, enjoy a cold beer and tasty grilled chicken.
