Day trippers cannot exchange physical foreign currency at Ba Na Hills because there are no dedicated currency exchange services or banks on the mountain. However, visitors can withdraw local currency (VND) directly using foreign debit or credit cards at ATMs located near the entrance ticket complex and at Morin Station. Most restaurants, main attraction ticket booths, and major shops on the site accept credit card payments. To avoid high international bank fees or payment issues, travelers are strongly advised to exchange cash into Vietnamese Dong in Da Nang or Hoi An before arriving.

Is There Money Exchange in Ba Na Hills Vietnam?
There are no official bank branches or dedicated physical money exchange counters for converting foreign cash into Vietnamese Dong (VND).
Foreign currencies, such as US Dollars, Euros, or Japanese Yen, are strictly not accepted for cash transactions anywhere within Sun World Ba Na Hills. In accordance with Vietnamese banking regulations, all physical cash transactions across the resort – including at ticket booths, retail outlets, souvenir shops, and dining establishments – must be settled exclusively in Vietnamese Dong (VND). Local vendors and staff are not permitted to accept foreign banknotes directly for any goods or services.
Furthermore, because there are no dedicated currency exchange counters on top of the mountain resort, visitors carrying foreign banknotes will be unable to convert them on-site. The lack of exchange facilities means you cannot rely on physical foreign cash once you arrive at the park entrance or summit.
To avoid payment difficulties during your visit, foreign tourists planning to use cash should exchange their money into VND in downtown Da Nang before heading up the mountain. Alternatively, visitors can rely on international credit or debit cards, which are widely accepted at POS terminals and ATMs throughout the resort.
To get cash (Vietnamese dong), visitors can try one of these ways:
1. On-site ATM withdrawals
The primary method to get physical cash directly on the mountain is using an ATM with an international credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
At the entrance / base Station: ATMs are located near the main ticket complex and entrance gates (e.g., near the Time Gate area) before you board the cable car.
At the mountain summit: Additional ATMs can be found around busy central areas, including the French Village, major cable car stations, and near the central square.
Note: International transaction fees and local foreign withdrawal fees apply, and machines can occasionally run out of cash or experience network connectivity issues during high-peak hours.
2. Hotel front desk exchange (for resort guests)
If you are staying overnight at Mercure Danang French Village Ba Na Hills, the hotel’s front desk can assist staying guests with exchanging minor amounts of foreign cash into VND. However, exchange rates may be less competitive than city bank rates, and cash reserves on-site are limited.

Where to Exchange Money near Ba Na Hills Vietnam?
Before going to Ba Na Hills, visitors can visit one of these places to exchange money and get Vietnam dong:
1. Official commercial banks
Commercial bank branches are the safest and most official option for currency exchange. They offer standard central bank exchange rates and transparent transactions, though you will need to present your passport. Major institutions like Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, Techcombank, Sacombank, and ACB generally operate on weekdays during standard business hours.
2. Local gold/jewelry shops
Gold and jewelry shops in the city center – particularly around Han Market or Hoi An Central Market – are widely popular among tourists looking for fast service and competitive market rates without long processing times.
3. Dedicated exchange offices & tourist hubs
Travelers staying near beach districts or major commercial hubs can find specialized exchange counters. Key locations include dedicated currency kiosks in the An Thuong Tourist Quarter near My Khe Beach, as well as customer service and bank exchange counters located inside major shopping complexes such as Lotte Mart and Vincom Plaza.
In Hoi An, visitors can find one in Hoi An Old Town area.
4. Da Nang International Airport (DAD)
Counters in the International Arrivals Terminal (Terminal 2) offer immediate access to Vietnamese Dong (VND) upon landing. While convenient for small immediate expenses (like taxis, SIM cards, or snacks), exchange rates here are generally lower than what you will find in the city center.
5. High-end hotels & resorts
Most major 4-star and 5-star hotels – especially those along the Vo Nguyen Giap beachfront strip – provide currency exchange services at their front desk. While highly convenient for staying guests, exchange rates and limits may vary compared to primary banking channels.
