Ca Lu Combat Base was a significant U.S. Marine Corps and Army logistics and tactical support facility established along Route 9 in western Quang Tri Province during the Vietnam War. Positioned strategically between the coastal plains and the rugged interior near the Laotian border, the base served as a crucial staging area for major operations and artillery support. It played an important role in facilitating troop movements and supply lines, particularly during the redeployment of forces from the nearby Khe Sanh and Vandegrift combat bases.
