Best Time to Visit Cham Island Marine Museum
The best time to visit the Ong Beach in Cham Islands in the year is the dry season, from February to the end of August. In this period, the weather is beautiful, with lots of sun and no rain. For that reason, it’s a perfect time to sightsee, sunbathe, go swimming, take pictures, and play water sports.
The worst time of the year to visit Ong Beach in Cham Islands is the rainy season, from September to January. The weather in these months is mostly rainy and cloudy, so it’s not really great to head over to the beach. Between October and December/January, typhoons may hit the area, causing very strong winds and waves as well as heavy rains and floods.
In December and January, generally it often rains. The heaviest rain will be in late December and early January (around Christmas, New year holidays). In late January, visitors can expect dry or sunny days to visit Ong Beach in Cham Islands. Check the weather forecast to choose the best days or hours!

How to Get to Cham Island Marine Museum
The Cham Island Museum is on the largest island of the Cham Islands, and lies within the biggest fishing village (Bai Lang) on this island.
To reach Cham Islands from the mainland Da Nang or Hoi An (and back), visitors need to take a speed boat or public ferry from Cua Dai Tourist Port. It takes passengers around 30 minutes each way. Read our guide How to Get to Cham Island for more information.
After reaching the island, the distance from the wharf in Bai Lang to Hai Tang Pagoda is about 150 meters, so getting there by foot is absolutely easy, no matter visiting with or without a guide. From the wharf in Bai Lang where the speed boat docks, it’s just needed to go straight ahead, walk upstairs and the museum is on the left hand side.
The Cham Island Museum is always in the itinerary of daily tours to Cham Islands, so if book a tour, your guide will take you there and tell stories about it.
If staying overnight on Cham Island (visiting without tour), the best way to go to Cham Island Museum is going to the wharf in Bai Lang first (or fresh seafood market, souvenir market) and then find it.
