Best Times of Year to Visit Cham Island Vietnam
Best Months Go to Cham Islands
The best months of the year to visit the Cham Islands are from March to August, when the dry season provides calm seas and crystal-clear waters perfect for water activities.
The most crowded months on the Cham Islands are from June to August, as these summer months align with school holidays and provide the most stable, sunny weather for tourism. This peak season sees a surge in domestic travelers and day-trippers from nearby Hoi An and Da Nang, all drawn by the calm seas and optimal conditions for water sports and beach activities.

Best Times to Go Snorkeling & Diving in Cham Islands
The best time of the year for snorkeling and diving in the Cham Islands is from June to August. During these peak summer months, the sea is at its calmest and the water visibility is superb, often exceeding 15 meters, allowing for vibrant views of the 135 species of coral found in the protected Marine Park.
The weather is consistently sunny with minimal rainfall, keeping the water clear of sediment and maintaining a comfortable temperature around 29°C. Conversely, visiting outside the March–September window is risky, as the monsoon season brings rough swells and murky conditions that can cancel boat trips entirely.

Worst Times of Year to Visit Cham Island Vietnam
The worst time of the year to visit the Cham Islands is from October to January. During these months, Central Vietnam enters its peak monsoon and typhoon season, bringing heavy rainfall, biting cold winds, and violent sea swells.
The primary reason to avoid this period is safety; extreme weather often makes the 15km boat crossing from Hoi An too dangerous to navigate. Consequently, tour operators typically suspend all snorkeling and diving trips, and the islands can become completely inaccessible for weeks. Even on “calm” days, underwater visibility is poor due to stirred-up sediment, rendering the Marine Park’s famous coral reefs invisible to visitors.
Between October and January, without Cham Islands, visitors still have many nature things to do in Hoi An area. There are basket boat ride in Cam Thanh Coconut Village, My Son Sanctuary, Marble Mountains, Am Phu Cave, Son Tra Peninsula (Nature Reserve), Hai Van Pass, Ba Na Hills,…
