How to Get to Son Tra Nature Reserve in Da Nang
Son Tra Nature Reserve is located within Son Tra Peninsula (Monkey Mountain), Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city, Vietnam.
From Da Nang city center (around the Dragon Bridge), the distance to Son Tra Nature Reserve is around 15 kilometers. Visitors can take a taxi/car to entrance of Intercontinental hotel and then explore this protection area by trekking/hiking, OR drive up to Ban Co Peak by Yet Kieu Road. Other smaller, unpaved roads are accessible only for bikes, but often lead to amazing hidden beaches.
From Hoi An, the distance to Son Tra Banyan Tree is about 40 kilometers. Visitors can take a a car/van/bus and ride the motorbike to go to Son Tra Nature Reserve. If go by car/van/bus, it’s needed to stop at the entrance of InterContinental Danang Resort (Google maps location: 16°06’50.5″N 108°18’36.0″E), and then hike. The best motorbike route is the coastal road. From anywhere in Hoi An, find the quickest way to the crossroad of Hai Ba Trung Street and Lac Long Quan Street (An Bang Beach). After that, follow Lac Long Quan Street (towards Da Nang), pass by the Marble Mountains, My Khe Beach and at the crossroad of Hoang Sa Street and Le Duc Tho Street, turn left and go straight. Turn into Yet Kieu Street to find the road leading up to Ban Co Peak to explore Son Tra Nature Reserve. The road from entrance of Intercontinental is prohibited for motorbikes.
