What to Expect in the Time Gate of Ba Na Hills?
The Time Gate (Vietnamese: Cong Thoi Gian) is a famous place in Sun World Ba Na Hills. It will be the first main building which visitors will see and take photos in this massive theme park. Opened on 30th April 2022 to celebrate the Vietnam’s unification day (same opening date with the Helios Waterfall), it marks the starting point in your journey to discover Ba Na Hills.
About the design, the Time Gate of Ba Na Hills is a triple gate which can be found in temples and pagodas cross Vietnam. It has three doors, with two side doors covered by a tile roof and with the middle door decorated with a big watch. This watch doesn’t work and shows the partial eclipse, symbolizing the moment when tourists leave their world and come into a world of wows and amusements at Ba Na Hills.
Groups of 10 people and above will have a free photo from Ba Na Hills. To have it, please tell camera men who wear a red shirt, to photograph and then wait him to give the photo printed. If want to have a same photo or a separate for solo/couple/family, it’s needed to pay. The price is from 50,000 VND/photo.
Because this place is close to the parking lots and in the entrance of Ba Na Hills, it’s often crowded in the morning. To not see too many people here, let’s go in the afternoon/evening or earlier than 8:00 AM.
Near the Time Gate of Ba Na Hills, visitors can find ticket counters, luggage storage, ATMs, food and beverage stores, souvenir shops, toilets,… Behind it, that’s a massive gate with an architecture inspired by Ngo Mon Gate (Noon Gate) in the Imperial City of Hue. After going into it, before seeing the cable car stations, it’s possible to see the Memory Garden.

Tips to Visit Time Gate in Ba Na Hills
– In the dry season, from February to the end of August, visitors should bring sun cream, hat/cap/umbrella, sun glasses, and bottles of water to drink. If don’t have, it’s easy to buy at shops near the Kazik Park.
– In the rainy season, from September to January, visitors should bring rain poncho/jacket or umbrella, sandals or waterproof shoes. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast usually when traveling during this period.
