Located in the heart of Da Nang city, near the Dragon Bridge, the Museum of Cham Sculpture is the oldest museum in Da Nang. It’s established in 1919 by leading French archaeologists. Until now, there are about 2,000 historic artifacts (mostly stone sculptures) preserved here and 500 of which are exhibited. The sculptures are made by Cham people and collected across the territories where they lived. From the 2nd to 19th century, they had their own kingdom named Champa. The 3D Museum Art in Paradise at Da Nang was opened on 15th July 2017. It became the first one of the type in the city and the 6th place in the world that is invested by the Art In Paradise Global (after Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya in Thailand, Langkawi in Malaysia, Melbourne in Australia). This museum has two floors and 9 galleries in total. Each gallery has a different theme. The ground floor has three galleries while the upper floor has six galleries. Located in Son Tra Peninsula, before the giant Lady Buddha statue, the Dong Dinh Museum is named after a palm tree which grows in the mountain. It opened on 28th January 2011, becoming the first privately owned museum that opened to visitors in Da Nang Vietnam. There are some old wooden houses with a collection of pottery belonging to different cultures or dynasties in Vietnam and China. It’s founded by Le Van Hoa (aged 45), a talented local artisan who grew up in Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village. Tradition of stone carving here was honored as Vietnam’s national intangible cultural heritage in 2014. The museum has two floors with a total area of up to 700 m2. Its design is inspired by traditional art of Cham people who lived in the area before the 14th century and had influences from Indian culture.
