Before 1975, the March 29 Park was the largest landfill in Da Nang. In 1976, young people and students around the city altogether cleaned it to open a park, transforming it from the most dirty place to the greenest place.
Today, the March 29 Park is the largest park in Da Nang city, with a total area of 20 hectares. It’s bordered by Nguyen Tri Phuong Street (west), Nguyen Van Linh Street (south), Dien Bien Phu Street (north) and residential areas (east). In the middle of this park, there is a big lake with fishes and walking paths along its shores. During the dry season, local residents come here to cool off and go fishing.
The March 29 Park is a popular place for senior citizens to do exercise every morning and afternoon, and kids to play.

How to Get to March 29 Park in Da Nang
The March 29 Park is on Dien Bien Phu Street, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city, Vietnam. It’s near the Da Nang International Airport.
From Da Nang, visitors can walk, take a taxi/car/minivan/bus, or ride the motorbike to the March 29 Park. From other side of the river (the East bank of the Han River), it’s needed to go across the Han River Bridge or the Dragon Bridge, and then find the quickest way to the park entrance on Dien Bien Phu Street. On Dien Bien Phu Street, there is one pedestrian overpass to the park from other side of the road.
From Hoi An, the distance to the March 29 Park is about 30 kilometers. Visitors often choose a private car hire or ride the motorbike. If going by motorbike, the best route is the coastal road Lac Long Quan. In Da Nang, at the crossroad of Vo Nguyen Giap Street and Pham Van Dong Street, turn left, go straight, go cross the river, and then keep going straight. The entrance of the March 29 Park lies on the left hand side.
