Everyday, Hon Thom cable car opens from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, particularly from 9:00 to 11:30 am and from 1:30 to 5:00 pm. Meaning that it’s closed between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm (called midday break). These hours are applied at both stations (station on Phu Quoc Island and station on Hon Thom Island).
In the morning, crowds will be seen in Anh Duong Station (departure station) around 9:00 am or 1:30 pm. Visitors should be here at least 15 minutes earlier. At the station on Hon Thom Island, it’s potentially crowded around 1:30 pm or 5:00 pm.
During the midday break, visitors can explore Phu Quoc Sunset Town and have lunch at a restaurant here. Inside Hon Thom cable car departure station, Mosaic Cafe will be a good choice. On Hon Thom Island, there are many activities, attractions, restaurants, and cafe to go before the cable car is operated again.

Hon Thom Cable Car Regulations
– If scare of heights, please consider carefully before going on Hon Thom cable car. It takes you to a height of over 170 meters above the sea and the duration is up to 15-30 mins. Make sure that everything will be fine if want to do.
– The one who has heart-related disease should think carefully before riding Hon Thom cable car. To go or not, nobody knows better than you!
– Follow the instructions of staff at cable car stations. In low season or non-busy hours, a private car will be okay to arrange for couples, groups or families. In busy/crowded hours, it’s impossible! One cable car often has 20-30 passengers.
– Do not cut the queue because it’s a rude thing to do. Those who pay for a wow pass (a pass to skip the line) may go by a vip lane and enjoy the private car then.
– Before boarding, the cable car still opens and then is closed automatically. Please do not use your hand to try closing it. Remember that Hon Thom cable car is built and operated by world-standard technologies.
– During the ride, passengers keep sitting and do not stand up or dance to maintain the balance and safety of the ride.
– If it’s hot or want to enjoy the fresh air in the mountain, visitors can use their hands to push the window up/down to open. In the rain, close it to keep dry.
– Do not bring food and drink into the cable car to keep it clean.
– Do not put the hand out of the window if want to take photos.
– Passengers must wait until the car’s window fully opens to get out. Do not use hand to try opening it, it’s impossible!

Experience on Hon Thom Cable Car Ride
The ride on Hon Thom cable car will be 15-30 minutes long, taking visitors from Phu Quoc Island (main island) to Hon Thom Island (or Pineapple Island), the biggest island of An Thoi archipelago.
In the beginning of Hon Thom cable car ride, visitors will see a full view of Anh Duong Station, which is inspired by the Colosseum in Italy and then European style buildings perfectly arranged along a stunning coast. This is a portion of Phu Quoc Sunset Town, a huge complex of hotels, restaurants, shops, markets, pedestrian bridge (Kiss Bridge), and show venues. After that, there is a fishing village to the left and to the right, it’s immense, blue sea (Gulf of Thailand). During the dry season (between November and April), when the water is calm, hundreds of fishing boats will dock below cable cars, providing impressive slices of daily local life. Occasionally, it’s possible to see rainbow.
During the next stage, Hon Thom cable car provides an exceptional view to whole An Thoi Port (the largest fishing port in Phu Quoc), Ong Doi Cape (where Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort is located) as well as islands in An Thoi Archipelago, including Hon Rua (coconut island), Hon Roi, Hon Dam Trong, Hon Dam Ngoai, Hon Vang, Hon Xuong,… Before landing at Hon Thom Island, visitors ‘fly’ above two islands (Hon Dua and Hon Roi), which have sharp grey rocks, colorful coral reefs, and tiny beaches along the shoreline, and untouched lush forests on the top. The islands is well known for a rich underwater life and has been designated as a national marine park since 2007. That’s why there are many speed canoes moving around their surrounding waters (to take tourists to diving and snorkeling spots). To minimize negative impact to the pristine nature, huge cement pillars are placed carefully on each island.
On the cable car ride back, in the sunset time, passengers have the chance to admire an incredibly beautiful scenery, when the sea surface becomes golden and the sky becomes orange.

How to Get to Hon Thom Cable Car in Phu Quoc
Hon Thom cable car is located in the Sunset Town, southern Phu Quoc island, Vietnam (also known as An Thoi area). Its departure terminal is Anh Duong Station on Amalfi Road. So, to have an experience on the longest cable car in the world, visitors need to come to this station.
If stay overnight in Phu Quoc Sunset Town, visitors can walk, take an electric buggy, or ride the bicycle or motorbike. It doesn’t take much time because the distance is less than 2 kilometers.
From Duong Dong town or Khem Beach, there is a free shuttle bus taking visitors to Anh Duong Station (Hon Thom cable car). The bus ride from Duong Dong is around 1 hour long, and on the way, visitors are picked up at many points. See more information & details
From the Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC), the distance to Hon Thom cable car is around 20 kilometers. The quickest way to get there is taking a taxi or booking a private car/bus in advance. The ride will be 30 mins long. To save, take free bus operated by Vin Group (called VinBus) from this airport to Duong Dong town, and then take free shuttle bus from Duong Dong town to Anh Duong Station (Hon Thom cable car).
From other areas in southern Phu Quoc Island, visitors should take a taxi or private car/bus or ride the motorbike to Hon Thom cable car.
From hotels in northwestern Phu Quoc Island, visitors should take a taxi or private car/bus if want to save time, or take free VinBus to Duong Dong town and then free shuttle bus from Duong Dong town to Anh Duong Station (Hon Thom cable car).
If going by car/bus, visitors will be dropped off at Roman Square, just outside Anh Duong Station. For motorbike, the parking is below this station and accessible by a small road to the right. It’s free to park in Hon Thom cable car. To take cable car, go up by escalators.
