History of Da Nang Downtown Theme Park
The construction project of an amusement park on the west bank of the Han River (near the Da Nang War Martyr’s Memorial Monument) started in 2010. The investor is the Sun Group, the owner of Ba Na Hills, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Vietnam. This theme park would be designed by American architect Bill Bensley who previously collaborated with Sun Group at InterContinental Resort in Son Tra Peninsula.
The Asia Park (theme park) was inaugurated in 2014. This park spans 88 hectares, including 48 hectares on the ground and 40 hectares on water surface. It has nine zones, each one representing nine different countries in Asia. There are India, China, Japan, Vietnam, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Famous landmarks or cultural elements in each country are also featured.
Meanwhile, one of the tallest observation wheels in the world was moved to Asia Park. It’s named ‘Sun Wheel’. Due to a height of 115 meters, this is the largest ferris wheel in the country. Since then, it has become a landmark in Da Nang city skyline and riverscape. See more information & details
