History of Chan May Port (Hue Port)

Chan May Port is a deep water port in Phu Loc district, Hue city, central Vietnam. It lies within Chan May Bay, about 100 kilometers away from Hue city center, 45 kilometers away from Da Nang city center and 75 kilometers away from Hoi An city center. This port is the closest port to the Pacific ocean from southern Laos and Northeastern Thailand.

The first terminal of Chan May Port was constructed from 25th March 2001 to 19th May 2003. After that, it became the most important facility of the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone.

From June 2018 to July 2021, the 2nd terminal of Chan May Port was built. It’s 225 meters long and 32,5 meters wide.

– The Marble Mountains: 20 km away from the Da Nang Cruise Port, this is a complex of 5 marble hills rising spectacularly from the ground. It’s also known as ‘Five-elements Mountain’ in Vietnamese. The largest and tallest mountain is the Water Mountain on which visitors can see old Buddhist temples, explore majestic caves, and climb to peaks with a panoramic view. – Hue Imperial Citadel100 km away from the Da Nang Cruise Port, this is the seat of power of Nguyen emperors from 1802 to 1945 when the city Hue played its role as the capital of Vietnam.
