Ba Na Hills Vietnam on Map
The Road to Ba Na Hills Vietnam
On the map, visitors can see a road to Ba Na Hills (on the photo below). This 15-kilometers-long road is started from a roundabout on Ba Na Suoi Mo boulevard (near the entrance of Ba Na Hills golf club) and then it runs through primary forests of the Ba Na Nui Chua Nature Reserve. It’s constructed by French colonists in the early 20th century to reach their own hill station (which lies on the top of Chua Mountain, around 1,400 meters above sea level). Later, in 2000s, it’s widened and improved.

Can You Drive Up to Ba Na Hills Vietnam?
Since the first cable car route to Ba Na Hills (from Suoi Mo Station to Ba Na Station today) was inaugurated (in 2009), the car road to Ba Na Hills has been closed. Meaning that it’s impossible to drive up there now.
Here are reasons why visitors can not go up to Ba Na Hills by road:
– The road to Ba Na Hills is 15 kilometers long, winding and packed with hairpin turns and bends. Going along this road by car/bus is not a good idea by that. For those who want to ride the motorbike, it’s dangerous!
– In the afternoon during the dry season and throughout the day in the rainy season, Ba Na Hills is rainy or/and foggy. Therefore, the road to this place will be wet and difficult to drive on.
– If don’t use the road to go up to Ba Na Hills, we can save the nature because do not have to cut down the primitive forests to widen or improve it. The hills today is home to a richness of animals and plants.
– If don’t use the road, more visitors can visit Ba Na Hills because getting there by cable car is much easier and safer. Seniors, kids, wheelchair users,… won’t have too much efforts to access it and then have a good time with stunning attractions and fun-filled activities.

Can You Hike Ba Na Hills Vietnam?
As mentioned above, there is a road to Ba Na Hills (or the summit of Chua Mountain) from its foot. However, it’s currently closed for hikers and trekkers because it runs through Ba Na – Nui Chua nature reserve. According to national and city laws, the access to this protection area is prohibited (after 2009 when the first cable car at the hills was inaugurated). The government believes that it will be free from human damages, like trashes. In conclusion, visitors can not hike up to Ba Na Hills up to date.
For hiking, we recommend Son Tra Mountain (from the base to Ban Co Peak at nearly 700 meters above the sea level) and Bach Ma National Park (from the base to the summit at 1,450 meters above the sea level).

For an easier and safer access to Ba Na Hills, in 2009, a cable car route was built. This first line achieved 2 world records: the longest and the steepest cable car in the world. Visitors will spend about 15-20 minutes to its ride.
Up to date, there are 4 other cable car routes constructed in Ba Na Hills, including the one from the Hoi An Station, Toc Tien Station, Champa Station and Hoi An 2 Station. The longest line is from Champa Station (to French Village) and the newest line is from Hoi An 2 Station (to Lunar Castle).
