Best Time to Visit Tien Sa Beach

The best time to visit Tien Sa Beach in the year is the dry season, from February to the end of August. In this period, the weather is beautiful, with lots of sun and no rain. For that reason, it’s a perfect time to sightsee, sunbathe, go swimming, take pictures, and play water sports.

The worst time of the year to visit Tien Sa Beach is the rainy season, from September to January. The weather in these months is mostly rainy and cloudy, so it’s not really great to head over to the beach. Between October and December/January, typhoons may hit the area, causing very strong winds and waves as well as heavy rains and floods.

In December and January, generally it often rains. The heaviest rain will be in late December and early January (around Christmas, New year holidays). In late January, visitors can expect dry or sunny days to visit Tien Sa Beach. Check the weather forecast to choose the best days or hours!

What to Expect in Tien Sa Beach?

Tien Sa Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Da Nang Vietnam. It’s well-known by a nearly-400-meters-long crescent white sandy beach, which lies between clear water and coconut forests. At its ends, there are mountains and hills covered by forests, but near at their foot, it’s possible to see grey rocks which vary in size and shape. In the front, there is a small bay connecting with greater Da Nang Bay, and further, cloudy mountains in Hai Van Pass that rise up to over 1,000 meters. To see/photograph the whole beach from above, visitors can climb to the top of a nearby hill.

Going swimming in Tien Sa Beach is totally safe, even for kids. Lifeguards here are always attentive and experienced. Visitors are not advised to swim near the rocks in the ends of the beach, to keep safety.

Because Tien Sa Beach is protected by mountains, sunny hours here are less than popular beaches of Da Nang (like My Khe Beach, My An Beach, Non Nuoc Beach). For those who don’t like the heat, this place will be nice to visit, and enjoy fresh and cool breeze from the sea.

Compared to other beaches in Da Nang, Tien Sa Beach is less crowded because it’s quite far from the city downtown. In Vietnamese legend, it’s the place where fairy ladies descend from the heaven down the Earth to go swimming together.

During the dry season, from February to end of August, water sports (such as paragliding, banana boat, jet skiing, kayaking, standup paddle boarding,…) are available to participate. The price is published on the boards putting on the beach.

By Tien Sa Beach, there is a restaurant-bar to go for foods, beverages, swimming pool and sun loungers. The pool and loungers will be free of charge for those who eat at this place. In general, the price here is fair to other beach bars around the city.
