Tra Ly Lotus Fields is the largest lotus field in Da Nang/Hoi An area and even in central region of Vietnam. It spans an area of 35-40 hectares in a hidden and peaceful valley near My Son Sanctuary, a Unesco world heritage site. From May to August, this place becomes such busy by locals, tourists and photographers who come to see a million of beautiful lotus flowers and take pictures. Because the period is within the dry season, the best time to visit is in the early morning when the temperature is not too high and the sunshine is not too strong. Furthermore, lotus blooms in the morning! At some lotus farms, local farmers require a small entry fee as well as sell coffee and other beverages.
Near Tra Ly Lotus Fields, visitors can go to Tra Kieu Marian Shrine, remains of Tra Kieu Citadel (Simhapura Citadel) of ancient Champa kingdom, My Son Sanctuary (a complex of 70 Hindu buildings), Museum of Champa – Sa Huynh Culture (a sister of Cham Sculpture Museum in Da Nang and Sa Huynh Culture Museum in Hoi An), Tra Kieu Market.

How to Get to Tra Ly Lotus Fields
Tra Ly Lotus Fields is located in Duy Son commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province (now Da Nang city). It’s nearly 50 kilometers south to downtown Da Nang and 25 kilometers away from center of Hoi An city.
To go to Tra Ly Lotus Fields from Da Nang/Hoi An, visitors can take a private taxi/car/bus or ride the motorbike. It takes around 1 hour to get there by car if going from Da Nang and only 45 minutes if going from Hoi An.
If like riding the motorbike, firstly visitors need to find the quickest way to see QL1A highway from Da Nang and then go southwards to Nam Phuoc Town (will cross Thu Bon River by Cau Lau Bridge). From Hoi An, go to the new Cam Kim Bridge near Thanh Ha Pottery Village, cross it and through rice fields of Cam Kim Island to see Nam Phuoc Town. From the crossroad of QL1A highway and Hung Vuong Street in the center of Nam Phuoc Town, turn into Hung Vuong Street and go straight until this spot on map: 15°49’28.1″N 108°14’19.0″E (a football field). Turn left, go straight (towards Tra Kieu Train Station). At this spot 15°48’39.7″N 108°13’55.6″E, turn right and go straight until see Tra Ly Lotus Fields.
