My Son Sanctuary on Map
Da Nang City Centre to My Son Sanctuary by Car/Bus
Many visitors choose to go to My Son Sanctuary by car or minivan or bus. Because the distance from Da Nang city downtown to My Son is some 40 kilometers, the drive may be around 1 hour long (or longer if the traffic is high in the weekend or high tourist season). So, it means that visitors will spend 2 hours in total to get there and return. In My Son, to go around and sightsee, 2 more hours at least are required.
Because My Son Sanctuary is located in a village near the mountains, therefore visitors should book a roundtrip transfer from the city. In the city centre, the local driver and companies often won’t charge to pick up at the hotel, but in areas near Son Tra Peninsula, near Marble Mountains or even near Hai Van Pass, an extra fee is required. It also means that if stay in those areas, please go earlier to have enough time to visit My Son. Early morning transfer must be private and it’s often a little bit more expensive.
Furthermore, My Khe Beach area and An Thuong area are also in Da Nang city centre, so ways to go to My Son are the same.

How to Go to My Son from Da Nang by Motorbike
Motorbike Rental in Da Nang & Hoi An
Vietnam is one of the countries which have the most motorcycles per capita. It seems that nearly all adults here have at least one. For that reason, it’s easy to hire a motorbike in Vietnam and the price won’t be high either.
Visitors can ask for rental service at the hotel first (almost all hotels in Da Nang and Hoi An have!). If not available or fully booked, it’s needed to contact some local businesses online to get one bike. The price for a semi-automatic motorcycle is usually cheaper than automatic motorbikes. It fluctuates from 150,000 to 300,000 VND for 1 day (morning to evening). To ride to Ba Na Hills, both of these types are fine and safe. Please choose a new or well-maintained bike. Having a test is widely accepted, so let’s do it to check how smooth it goes before hit the road.
All people sitting on the motorbike must wear a helmet in Vietnamese traffic law. Each person will have one helmet at the place they hire a motorbike. Meaning that it’s free. In some places, complimentary rain ponchos are provided (but can not take it when returning the bike!).
Visitors usually have to fill up motorbikes at their own expense. However, gasoline in Vietnam is not expensive (about 1 USD for one liter). Petrol stations are along major roads leading into/out the city, especially at crossroads. On the way from Da Nang to Hoi An, there are many gasoline stations to stop.
When change the mind to hire a private transfer by car, text us by whatsapp +84968009827 to book with a fair price.
