Best Time to Visit Hidden Beach in Hoi An

The best time to visit the Hidden Beach at Hoi An in the year is the dry season, from February to the end of August. In this period, the weather is beautiful, with lots of sun and no rain. For that reason, it’s a perfect time to sightsee, sunbathe, go swimming, take pictures, and play water sports.

The worst time of the year to visit the Hidden Beach at Hoi An is the rainy season, from September to January. The weather in these months is mostly rainy and cloudy, so it’s not really great to head over to the beach. Between October and December/January, typhoons may hit the area, causing very strong winds and waves as well as heavy rains and floods.

In December and January, generally it often rains. The heaviest rain will be in late December and early January (around Christmas, New year holidays). Things to Do in Hidden Beach Hoi An Vietnam

Sightseeing & Swimming in Hidden Beach

Between Tan Thanh Beach (north) and Cua Dai Beach (south), because of being lesser known, the Hidden Beach is known as one of the most peaceful beaches in the area. It has a non-stop and clean stretch of fine white sand, with blue and clear water in the front and undeveloped areas in the back, with lots of pine trees and coconut trees. The strand is newly restored after a heavy damage happened here many years ago.

From the Hidden Beach at Hoi An, on the left hand side, there is a portion of Son Tra Peninsula (Monkey Mountain), high-rise buildings along My Khe Beach and rocky hills of the Marble Mountains. On the right hand side, there are islands of Cham Islands, a national marine park and Unesco world biosphere reserve. No surprise, the Hidden Beach is a good place for those who love seeing beautiful natural landscapes and taking pictures. Compared to nearby beaches, the atmosphere is more peaceful here.

During the dry season, going swimming at Hidden Beach is safe for both adults and kids. In the early morning or late afternoon, visitors will see many local people who come here to cool down, do exercise, play sports and of course, go swimming. The water is not deep and the waves are gentle. Because it is less crowded, parents can take their children to Hidden Beach and then give them time to run on the beach, play in the water and build sand castles. Please do not forget swimsuits/swimwear!

If looking for a sun bed to lie down and chill with a cold beer, let’s go to the café located on the beachfront (or at the entrance of the beach). Those who take something from the food/drink menu, may not need to pay a fee to use the lounge.

Watch Sunrise in Hidden Beach

The Hidden Beach is a good spot to watch and photograph sunrise or sunset in Hoi An. The sunrise is better somehow because the beach looks to the East. If possible, visitors should book an accommodation in the village close to this beach. From the city centre of Hoi An, the distance won’t be too long, so just need to wake up earlier a little bit (can cycle, ride the motorbike or take a taxi to get there). While the sun is rising, there are many locals on the beach to cool down, sleep, do exercise, play sports, go swimming, do yoga or chat with friends. Natural scenery during the sunrise in Hidden Beach is mind-blowing, making your efforts worth it and your time here not wasty.

If use any service, visitors may not need to pay for parking fee and sunbed rental. Because locally-owned restaurants at Hidden Beach open from morning to evening, therefore visitors can have something for brunch or pre-dinner here.

Hotels & Resorts in Hoi An Hidden Beach Area

Along the small road leading to the Hidden Beach from Lac Long Quan Street, visitors will see some small hotels, homestays and hotels. The advantages of these places are their close distance to one of the most peaceful (least touristy) beaches in the area. However, if want to seek restaurants to eat, spas for a massage or shops to go shopping, it’s needed to walk to nearby Tan Thanh Beach. Most tourist venues there stand along Nguyen Phan Vinh Street, 800 meters away from the Hidden Beach (or less). Many other restaurants and bars in An Bang Beach area, nearly 2 kilometers to the north.

Because located in a small and long road, visitors who book day trips will need to walk to the major road Lac Long Quan Street for pick up.
