Food & Drink in Helio Night Market Da Nang

Opened in 2015, next to Helio Kid Center, Helio Night Market is one of must-go places in Da Nang city by night. It’s not on the street, but close to a large crossroad.

Helio Night Market is home to many food and drink stalls. On Saturday and Sunday nights, most of them will be open. Visitors can find Asian food to try, including Vietnamese grilled and fried dishes as well as hotpot, Korean and Japanese dishes. Local specialty dishes, like Mi Quang (a bowl of rice noodle, savory broth, pork belly, shrimp, quail eggs, served with raw vegetables) or Banh Xeo (a crispy pancake with pork, shrimp, bean sprout, wrapped with rice paper and raw vegetables, dipping sauce) are sold at a fair price. Other yummy choices are Banh Mi (Vietnamese bread filled with meats, pickles, herbs, pate, sauces), Banh Trang Nuong (crunchy grilled rice paper with dried shrimps, crispy potato, butter, chili/potato sauces, fried shallots), Cao Lau (a noodle dish originating from Hoi An, with noodle sticks, pork belly, rice crackers, savory broth, raw vegetables), Banh Can (mini rice pancakes), Hoi An style grilled pork skewers (wrapped with rice paper and raw vegetables, served with fish sauce or peanut sauce), Nem Lui (grilled lemongrass pork skewers), Banh Loc (clear tapioca dumpling), Banh Beo (steamed savory rice cake), seafood barbecues, Southern Vietnam style fresh spring rolls, fried fish balls,…

The food court at Helio Night Market brings Vietnamese street food culture into a clean and organized space. The food and drink price here is affordable, compared to other tourist places. Name and price of each option will be shown, making visitors have an easier experience.

About drinks, visitors can see cold canned and bottled beverages, soft drinks, juices, smoothies, fruit tea, coffee, beers and other alcoholic beverages. Foreigners are often recommended to try Larue beer (with a tiger face) or Huda beer that are produced in the region. Unlike local restaurants, beers at Helio Night Market are cold, won’t be served with ice if do not request.

Near food and drink stalls, there is an outdoor performing stage with lots of seats in the front. Visitors can sit anywhere, to watch artists singing, dancing or playing music. Singers will sing both Vietnamese and English songs. It’s possible to come to the stage and dance or sing with the artist if want. Why not?

Tips to Visit Helio Night Market in Da Nang

– In the dry season, from February to the end of August, visitors should bring some bottles of water to drink.

– In the rainy season, from September to January, visitors should bring rain poncho/jacket or umbrella, sandals or waterproof shoes. The Helio Night Market is an open-air place, so they’re very necessary.

– Visitors should learn some Vietnamese sentences to go shopping at the Helio Night Market, such as bao nhieu (how much), co thu duoc khong (can I try it on),

– Visitors should learn some Vietnamese sentences to eat at the Hoi An Night Market, such as bao nhieu (how much), khong cay (no spicy), toi an chay (I’m vegetarian), khong thit heo (no pork).
