Ba Na Hills is located in Da Nang city, the capital of central Vietnam. From the city center, the distance to Ba Na Hills is 25-30 kilometers. Located in the city of same name, Ha Long Bay is among the most famous tourist attractions in Vietnam. It’s a UNESCO world heritage site and is one of 7 natural wonders of the world. In this place, visitors will see some thousands of limestone islands rising strikingly from the sea and at many islands, amazing caves and beautiful beaches are seen.
The distance from Ha Long Bay to Da Nang is around 880 kilometers. Therefore, the fastest way will be taking a flight. However, there is no airport in Ha Long city. Visitors need to go to the airport in Hai Phong, Hanoi or Van Don if want to fly somewhere.
In Da Nang, domestic flights will land at the Da Nang International Airport (code: DAD), particularly Terminal 1. From this terminal, visitors need 1-hour drive by car/bus to reach Ba Na Hills, depending on traffic and weather (the distance is about 25 kilometers). From Hai Phong
Today, one of the quickest ways to get from Ha Long Bay to Ba Na Hills is taking a flight from Hai Phong Airport to Da Nang and then have a private transfer from Da Nang Airport to Ba Na Hills.
Hai Phong Airport or Cat Bi International Airport (code: HPH) is around 43 kilometers away from Ha Long Bay, making it the nearest airport from the bay. A direct flight from here to Da Nang will be 1 hour and 15 minutes long, and it’s operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.
To go from Ha Long Bay to Cat Bi International Airport, visitors can take a private car/bus if want to prioritize time and convenience or shuttle bus if prefer a cheaper price. By express ways, the drive to this airport by car/bus will be 40-45 minutes long.
At the Cat Bi International Airport, there is one terminal only for both domestic flights and international flights. Visitors need to be here at least 2 hours before departure. So, have to leave Ha Long Bay at least 2 hours and 45 minutes earlier than flight time.
Currently, online check in and E-boarding pass are accepted for domestic flights in Vietnam at the Cat Bi International Airport (24 hours to 1 hour before departure).

Today, one of the quickest ways to get from Ha Long Bay to Ba Na Hills is taking a flight from Hanoi Airport to Da Nang and then have a private transfer from Da Nang Airport to Ba Na Hills.
Hanoi Airport or Noi Bai International Airport (code: HAN) is around 170 kilometers away from Ha Long Bay. A direct flight from here to Da Nang will be 1 hour and 20 minutes long, and it’s operated by many local airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airline, Pacific Airlines). This is the second busiest airport in Vietnam (just behind Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City).
To go from Ha Long Bay to Noi Bai International Airport, visitors can take a private car/bus if want to prioritize time and convenience or shuttle bus if prefer a cheaper price. By express ways, the drive to this airport by car/bus will be 2,5 hours long.
At the Noi Bai International Airport, there are two terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights. The flight from Hanoi to Da Nang is inside Vietnam, so visitors need to be in Terminal 1 at least 2 hours before departure. So, have to leave Ha Long Bay at least 4,5 hours earlier than flight time.

Today, one of the quickest ways to get from Ha Long Bay to Ba Na Hills is taking a flight from Van Don Airport to Da Nang and then have a private transfer from Da Nang Airport to Ba Na Hills.
The Van Don International Airport (code: VDO) is around 60 kilometers away from Ha Long Bay. A direct flight from here to Da Nang will be 1 hour and 20 minutes long, and it’s operated by Vietnam Airlines only. Furthermore, to fly from Van Don to Da Nang, visitors can look for flights with a stop in Ho Chi Minh City from Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air.
At the Van Don International Airport, there is still one terminal for both domestic and international flights.
