How to Get to Do Quyen Waterfall
Going to Bach Ma National Park
Do Quyen Waterfall lies within Bach Ma National Park, a national protection area in former Phu Loc district of Hue city in Vietnam (about halfway from Hue to Da Nang/Hoi An). To enter this park, visitors need to go to Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center, 3km from Highway QL1A (or AH1) and in the end of Bach Ma Road in Phu Loc Town.
The distance to Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center from Hue city center is roughly 53km. It’s over 60km from Da Nang city center, and 90km from Hoi An. The park is connected with all three cities by Highway 1A.
Today, most popular ways to reach Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center are taking a private car/bus and riding the motorbike. It takes visitors nearly 1,5 hours if depart from Da Nang, 2 hours from Hoi An, and 1 hour from Hue. If want to ride the bike to Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center, here are the best route:
+ From Hoi An: from anywhere in Hoi An, go to crossroad of Lac Long Quan Road and Hai Ba Trung Road near An Bang Beach. Ride towards Da Nang city (along the coastal road namely Lac Long Quan Road, Truong Sa Road, Vo Nguyen Giap Road). At crossroad of Vo Nguyen Giap Road and Vo Van Kiet Road near My Khe Beach, turn left, go straight, cross Dragon Bridge and go straight again. At crossroad of Nguyen Tri Phuong Road, turn right and go straight until the end (the coast). Turn left, go straight until crossroad of Nguyen Luong Bang Road. Turn right, go straight, cross Nam O Bridge until crossroad of Ta Quang Buu Road. Turn left, go straight, and then turn right to see the shuttle service ticket office for Hai Van Tunnel (opening from 6 AM to 10 PM). Because motorbikes are not allowed in the tunnel, riders need to pay a fee for transferring their bike and themselves to the other side of the tunnel (Hue side). In Hue side, ride along the shoreline of Lap An Lagoon until see Highway QL1A. Follow this highway, go through the tunnel at Phu Gia Pass and Phuoc Tuong Pass respectively. In Phu Loc Town, on the right hand side, find Bach Ma Road and follow it until the end to see Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center. (see the map below)
+ From Da Nang: from anywhere in Da Nang, find the quickest route to Nguyen Tat Thanh Road. Follow it until crossroad of Nguyen Luong Bang Road. Turn right, go straight, cross Nam O Bridge until crossroad of Ta Quang Buu Road. Turn left, go straight, and then turn right to see the shuttle service ticket office for Hai Van Tunnel (opening from 6 AM to 10 PM). Do Quyen Waterfall Trail
After arriving at Bach Ma National Park Visitor Center, to see Do Quyen Waterfall, visitors can hike or take a private transfer up to the Do Quyen Waterfall Trail (in the summit of Bach Ma Mountain). If not a professional hiker, we suggest choosing a roundtrip transfer (or only the ride up to the trail if have time).
From the main car road, visitors need to hike along the Do Quyen Waterfall Trail (through forests) to see the top of the waterfall. From this point, to have a full view of the fall, it’s needed to go down 700 stairs to its bottom.
