Best Time of the Year to Visit Golden Hands Bridge

The best time to visit Golden Hands Bridge Vietnam in the year is from February (after the Vietnamese new year festival or Tet) to the end of August. During these months, it’s dry and the sky is clear, allowing visitors to best enjoy the bridge and its greater park Ba Na Hills. The temperature is always lower than below areas, and it’s cool, comfortable. In the late afternoon, it often rains (but quickly), making visitors feel a bit cold. At night, it’s cold (temperature may drop to 15oC) and of course, most tourists need a jacket. The air is also very fresh due to vast forests in the surroundings. While walking on the bridge, it’s breezy.

Golden Hands Bridge is like an observation deck, giving visitors a great chance to admire breath-taking bird’s eye views from there, a dreamy sea of cloud as well as brilliant sunrise, sunset. Sure, the best time is from February to the end of August, when it’s clear and without a high rate of humidity.

The hottest months of the year – peak of the summer are May, June, July when the temperature may rise up to 40oC. It’s lower in Golden Hands Bridge, but solar radiation is still high that is harmful to skins and is bad for pictures. This period is high time for local tourists when lots of families travel to Da Nang/Hoi An.

In September, the weather is lovely if it doesn’t rain. The heat isn’t so strong like May, June and July, and the crowds are less.

From October to January, it rains most in the year. Typhoons may come to the area, causing heavy rains, very strong winds in the mountain where Golden Hands Bridge is located. For safety reasons, the cable cars may be shut down. Therefore, visitors should check the weather forecast carefully before going, especially when hearing a typhoon is upcoming.

Best Time of the Day to Visit Golden Hands Bridge

During the Best Months of the Year

During the dry season, from February to the end of August, the best time of the day to visit Golden Hands Bridge is when it’s sunny (dry). Depending on traveling purpose or personal preferences, it’s also the time when the bridge has no crowds or it won’t be too hot.

To know about sunny days, visitors just need to use Google and search “Golden Hands Bridge weather” on the days/the week/the month you prefer to go. When the day is closer, please check it again to know the most updated weather forecast and details, to choose the exact day to visit Golden Hands Bridge. The weather forecast also shows what’s going on each hour of the day, therefore visitors can see the best hours to be there and explore.

To avoid the crowds, it’s needed to be in Golden Hands Bridge when it’s just opened or in the late afternoon. In 2024, the bridge opens at 8 AM (the cable cars to it have the same operation hours). To get the first cable car at 8 AM, visitors have to leave the hotel early. From Da Nang city centre or My Khe Beach area or Non Nuoc Beach area or Nam O Beach area, the best time to go is 6:30-7 AM. From Son Tra Peninsula, it should be 6:30 AM (better if it starts earlier). From Hoi An, it should be 6-6:30 AM. Not all about the transfer to get to Sun World Ba Na Hills, visitors also spend time for tickets, walking to cable car stations. From 9 AM onwards, groups of tourists flock the bridge and it’s not enjoyable and comfortable anymore to see, photograph there.

The busiest months in the dry season are April to July. Visitors traveling to Golden Hands Bridge are mostly Vietnamese and Asians, so the best time to escape from crowds is definitely late afternoon.

Timings we recommend above are for visitors who reach the Golden Hands Bridge by car. If you use other vehicles, please go earlier to make sure that you are on it before crowds appear.

Staying in the hotels at Ba Na Hills is also another way to get the first cable car to Golden Hands Bridge. Now, there is only Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills (hotel) available to book a room. In the morning, from here, the guests have to walk to Louvre station and get one of the cable cars there. The earliest car is still 8 AM (earlier if lucky) but the ride is definitely shorter than the ones boarding from the foot of the hills. Sure, will be on the Golden Hands Bridge before day trippers. One thing that visitors should consider is the cost (maybe too expensive).

To avoid the heat, early morning or late afternoon is a nice time. Just follow our above recommendations to be the first person on the Golden Hands Bridge when like to go in the early morning. If don’t prefer an early departure or not an early bird, visitors should be there in late afternoon, 4 PM onwards. If lucky, it’s also possible to see the sunset from the bridge and have really fantastic photos. To know the exact sunset time to plan the trip, use Google and search ‘Golden Hands Bridge sunset time’. Please make sure that you will be on the bridge at least 1-1,5 hours before it’s dark because of needing to sightsee in other places too. Another option, you can see around the park first and come to the bridge 30 mins once the sun disappears. In many days, the direct cable car to Golden Hands Bridge (from the Hoi An station) is under maintenance, so visitors must go up by other cable cars and sure, will spend more time walking to the bridge.

To save time, visitors can think about booking a tour to Golden Hands Bridge to avoid crowds with a local expert.

During Rainy Months

During the wet/rainy months, September to January, the best time to visit Golden Hands Bridge is when it’s dry (more lucky, when it’s sunny). Absolutely, visitors don’t have to think about the heat because the temperature isn’t high in this season. However, the crowds are still seen, especially from October to mid-January.

It seems that in September, visitors can see sunny days (although not full days). That’s great already in this season because it rains frequently and Golden Hands Bridge is densely clouded. The thing visitors should do is select a sunny day and put it into the travel itinerary (other places will be fine when raining).

From October to mid-January, it’s usually wet, cold, windy, and foggy at Golden Hands Bridge. Nearly all cloudy photos or negative reviews about the bridge and Ba Na Hills mentions this period. Therefore, the best time to visit is when it’s just dry. Due to the high mountain location, when it’s dry at the bridge it is not easy to know also. Local experts recommend checking the weather forecast in advance and in days you’re in the area. After that, check the chance of rain each day, and choose the time with least chance of rain to go (when the day is closer, it’s more correct).
