Better to Know about Bach Dang Street in Da Nang

Bach Dang Street is the most beautiful road in Da Nang city, the 4th biggest city in Vietnam and the capital of central Vietnam region. It’s nearly 6 kilometers long, stretching from along the west bank of the Han River, the largest river of the city. It’s started at the roundabout of Tran Phu Street, 3 Thang 2 Street and Dong Da Street, in Thuan Phuoc ward (Hai Chau district) and ends at the crossroad of Duy Tan Street near the west end of Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Hoa Cuong Bac ward (Hai Chau district).

Currently, the best part of Bach Dang Street is between the Song Han Port in the north and the Dragon Bridge in the south.

The best times of the day to visit Han River Promenade are the morning and the evening. The views during these times are beautiful and the temperature is not high as well. We recommend coming here to watch the sunset and the sparkling city after being lit by millions of lamps when it’s dark. The riverscape of Da Nang is really impressive at night. Sure, there are many photo opportunities.

From north to south, here are famous tourist attractions on Bach Dang Street in Da Nang:

– ‘Good Land Bird Perches’ Park: a rectangular-shaped public park with stone sculpture which depicts a flock of birds perching (Da Nang city is known as the most worth living city in Vietnam or ‘a good land’ where talented people come to live), carved by Le Cong Thanh, a famous sculptor coming from Da Nang. He is also the author of the sculpture ‘Au Co Mother’ at Bien Dong Park (East Sea Park) by Phuoc My Beach.

– Song Han Port: the port where visitors can buy tickets for Han River night cruises to watch Da Nang city with its famous bridges and buildings along the waterfronts. On the weekend, it’s possible to see the Dragon Bridge breathing fire and water. In June/July, have the chance to witness and photograph the fireworks in Da Nang. See more information & details

– Dien Hai Citadel: this is the oldest remains of Da Nang city (constructed in the first half of 19th century). From 1858 to 1860, it’s associated with the first war between Vietnamese and French/Spanish armies. – The Han River Bridge: this is the first bridge to cross the Han River in Da Nang city downtown after the Vietnam War (that’s why it’s named after the river). It’s inaugurated in 2000 and today, becomes a symbolic swing bridge. See more information & details

– The Da Nang Museum: this is the largest museum in Da Nang. It’s converted from the former City hall that was built by French people and was inaugurated in 2025. – Han Market: this is the oldest and the biggest local market in Da Nang city center. It’s named after the Han River. Here, visitors will see a variety of local products to buy for souvenirs and different local dishes to try. See more information & details

– The Dragon Bridge: this is a 666-meters-long bridge spanning the Han River. It’s the most special bridge in Da Nang downtown because it carries an extremely heavy metal dragon which weighs up to 9,000 tons. The head of the dragon is on the East bank of the river, so from Bach Dang Street, visitors need to go to the other side to see and photograph. – Museum of Cham Sculpture: this is the oldest museum in Da Nang (established in 1919). Here, the largest collection of sculptures made by Cham people in the world has been preserved. Today, it’s one of the most famous tourist attractions of the city. See more information & details

– APEC Park: this is a public park built to celebrate the 2017 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in which Da Nang city was the host. – Bach Dang Walking Street: this is a new tourist attraction in Da Nang at night. It’s the stretch of Bach Dang Street between the APEC Park (Dragon Bridge) and Tran Thi Ly Bridge, on the west bank of the Han River. – Nguyen Van Troi Bridge: this is a small metal bridge constructed in the Vietnam war. It’s the only historical bridge across the Han River that has been preserved today. Visitors often come here to walk along it and enjoy the view of famous bridges and the city downtown. – Tran Thi Ly Bridge: this is an over-700-meters-long cable-stayed bridge across the Han River. It’s constructed from 2009 to 2013, and inaugurated at the same time with the Dragon Bridge. Its design is inspired by a sailing boat that is ready to travel on the sea. From here, visitors can easily observe or photograph the Dragon Bridge in the downstream or the Sun Wheel (a giant Ferris wheel) in the upstream. See more information & details
