Weather in Ba Na Hills from June to August
June, July and August are in the middle of the dry season in Da Nang Hoi An. So, it’s very sunny, hot and dry (these months are amongst the hottest months of the year). Thanks to high altitude, over 1,400 meters above sea level, the temperature at Ba Na Hills is lower than the city. Additionally, cool breeze blowing from the sea and surrounding nature reserve make visitors feel more comfortable. It’s even cooler when standing in the shade of the forest or staying indoors. In the 19th century, because of this weather, French people chose the mountain to build a hill station to escape from the summer heat.
The weather at Ba Na Hills from June to August is described as ‘4 seasons in 1 day’ because it’s sunny like spring in the morning, it’s a little bit hot like summer in the midday, it’s mild like autumn in the afternoon (thanks to rain) and it’s cold at night like winter.
Is Ba Na Hills Crowded in June, July & August?
In June, July and August, Ba Na Hills is crowded. Tourists mainly come from cities from Vietnam, instead of other countries. So, this period is known as the high season for local visitors (while the last months of the year is the high season for foreign visitors).
Here are reasons why Ba Na Hills is crowded in June, July and August:
– June, July and August are the best months of the whole year to visit Ba Na Hills. Generally, these months are within the dry season.
– June, July and August are the summer holidays for all students in Vietnam. That’s why this period is the most suitable in the whole year to travel for local families. Of course, Da Nang is one of the best cities to go to because it has great public beaches, lots of hotel options, quite-close distance to main attractions, good and reasonably-priced food, friendly people, more. Anyway, Ba Na Hills is on the bucket list of families as a top destination. Here, there are many attractions and activities for both adults and kids throughout the day.
– June or July are months during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. This annual festival is famous for amazing fireworks performances above Han River in Da Nang city downtown. Every night, there are some thousands of people, both locals and tourists that are excited to watch them. No matter buying or not buying the ticket, it’s still possible to see fireworks from many spots across the city. Because the festival takes place on Saturday evening, everybody can participate in it and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere across the city. In Vietnam, except for New year eve or very important events, Da Nang is the only place where people can see fireworks many times during a short period.
How to Avoid Crowds at Ba Na Hills in June, July & August
To avoid the crowd at Ba Na Hills in June, July and August, visitors need to go in the early morning or late afternoon. The park and the cable car opens at 8:00 am, so it’s needed to go from Da Nang at 6:45-7:00 am and from Hoi An at 6:15-6:30 am. After arriving, visitors need to buy a ticket and then walk to the cable car station to take the earliest ride up the mountain. On the weekend, earlier departure may be necessary. Please note that there are some groups of local tourists coming to the park in the early morning too (Vietnamese people go to work at the same hours, so visiting in the early morning is common to them). In the late afternoon, it’s less crowded because most local people want to spend a full day in Ba Na Hills. So, this is a good chance to avoid crowds and not see long queues. At sunset and evening, the park still opens. See more information & details
