What to Expect in Ba Le Market (Hoi An)?

Ba Le Market is one of the largest local markets in Hoi An, serving residents from Cam Chau and Cam Thanh areas. It comprises a building filled with shops of cloth, shoe, spice, bag, household items,… and open areas for meat, vegetable and other fresh products. At night, along Le Thanh Tong Street (front of the market hall), there are a dozen of stalls selling street foods like grilled pork skewers with rice paper, duck porridge, noodle dishes, traditional cakes, fruits, juices,… (closed around 9:30 pm).

Today, Ba Le Market is one of popular places to visit within local cooking classes in Hoi An, especially tours with basket boat ride in coconut forest or bicycle ride through rice fields.

How to Get to Ba Le Market (Hoi An)

Ba Le Market is located near crossroad of Le Thanh Tong Street and Cua Dai Street, Cam Chau ward, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, Vietnam (now Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang city).

From Hoi An Old Town world heritage, the distance to Ba Le Market is around 2 kilometer. Visitors can walk or ride the bicycle/motorbike. From other parts of Hoi An, the distance to this market is less than 7 kilometers, so walking, cycling, taking a taxi/car/electric buggy, riding the scooter,… are all possible.

From Da Nang city center, the distance to Ba Le Market is around 30 kilometers. Two most popular ways to get there is taking a private car/bus or riding the motorbike. It takes visitors 45-60 minutes if go by car/bus. If like going by motorbike, the best route is the coastal road. From anywhere in Da Nang city center, go to Vo Nguyen Giap Road or Truong Sa Road. After that, go along it towards the south, and at crossroad of Cua Dai Street in Hoi An (near Cua Dai Beach), turn right, go straight and at the crossroad of Le Thanh Tong Street, turn left. Ba Le Market  lies on the right hand side. 

Parking for bikes will be 5,000-10,000 VND/time.
