Suoi Mo Cable Car Station on Map
Better to Know about Suoi Mo Cable Car Station
Suoi Mo Station is the first (oldest) cable car stations in Ba Na Hills, a well-known theme park in Da Nang city, Vietnam. It’s opened on 25th March 2009 (to commemorate the 34th anniversary of Da Nang’s Liberation day and the 47th anniversary of Vietnam’s Unification day). It’s named after Suoi Mo (literally: the Dream Spring) because it lies by the Dream Spring. This stream originates from the peak of Nui Chua (King Mountain) at altitude of 1,487 meters, runs through Ba Na – Nui Chua Nature Reserve, and then flows into Tuy Loan River (a tributary of the Han River, the biggest river in Da Nang). This spring has Toc Tien Waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in the area, which boasts a height of 700 meters. Additionally, Suoi Mo is used to call the original name of Ba Na Hills (Ba Na – Suoi Mo Tourist Area), the highway from the city to Ba Na Hills (Ba Na – Suoi Mo Road) and a flower garden in Le Jardin d’Amour Gardens. In Lang Co, on the other side of Hai Van Pass, Suoi Mo (Dream Spring) is a popular spot for local families to go swimming during hot months.
In the beginning of any cable car rides up to Ba Na Hills, passengers will see Suoi Mo (Dream Spring) from above.
This station is the lower/departure station of the first cable car line in Ba Na Hills which gained two Guinness records ‘the longest cable car in the world’ (5,042 meters long) and ‘the cable car with the largest difference between elevations of lower and upper stations in the world’ (over 1,400 meters). In 2013, the cable car line from Toc Tien Waterfall Station to L’Indochine Station (still in Ba Na Hills) that is 5,771 meters long, replaced this line.
Together with the Hoi An Station, Suoi Mo Station is the lowest cable car station in Ba Na Hills. Visitors don’t have to climb stairs to go to this place.
After a 20-minutes-long cable car ride from Suoi Mo Station, visitors will arrive at the Ba Na Station. To explore the park, it’s needed to take the Ba Na Hills Funicular 1 (from d’Amour Station) or one more cable car (from the Debay Station).
