Ba Na Hills Vietnam Weather by Month

January

January marks the end of the wet season, offering a cool and misty atmosphere. Temperatures typically hover between 15°C and 20°C, though they can drop lower at night. Rainfall decreases to roughly 100mm, but persistent fog and light drizzle often shroud the Golden Bridge. It is a quiet month, perfect for those who enjoy a mysterious, atmospheric vibe without the intense summer heat or crowds.

In January, the Golden Bridge is frequently shrouded in thick fog. While you might not get the wide panoramic photos seen in brochures, walking through the mist creates a “stairway to heaven” effect that many photographers prefer for its moody, ethereal vibe.

In January, the bell-shaped cherry blossoms (hoa dao chuong) begin their annual bloom in Ba Na Hills. This rare flower is the official emblem of the resort and is highly sought after by photographers for its delicate, porcelain-like appearance.

To see this flower, visitors should go to Nui Chua Summit (King Peak).

February

The dry season officially begins, bringing clearer skies and more stable conditions. Temperatures remain pleasant, ranging from 16°C to 22°C. Rainfall is significantly lower than in previous months, averaging around 50mm. While the mornings can be quite chilly, the afternoons often provide brilliant sunshine. This is widely considered one of the best months for photography due to the sharp contrast between the stone architecture and blue skies.

During the Lunar New Year (often falling in February), Ba Na Hills transforms into a vibrant “spring paradise” centered around its signature Spring Flower Festival, which showcases millions of blooming tulips and the iconic bell-shaped cherry blossoms. The resort blends festive European-style carnivals with traditional Vietnamese Tet customs, offering lion dances, calligraphy art, and specialized spiritual ceremonies in the mountaintop pagodas. March

March is characterized by mild weather and increasing sunshine. Average temperatures rise slightly to between 18°C and 24°C. Precipitation stays low at approximately 40mm, making outdoor exploration of the French Village very comfortable. The humidity is manageable, and the “four seasons in a day” phenomenon becomes more noticeable, where you might experience a cool spring morning followed by a warm, summery midday and a crisp autumn evening.

In March, visitors will have the chance to see and take beautiful photos with millions of colorful flowers during the Ba Na Hills Flower Festival, celebrating the beginning of the best season of the year and the International Woman’s Day on 8th March. Most flowers will be seen in Le Jardin d’Amour gardens between the Golden Bridge and the Big Buddha, French Village and Lunar Castle. See more information & details

Local residents in central Vietnam often receive a big discount for Ba Na Hills ticket during March. Therefore, this park is crowded, especially in the morning or weekend days. If don’t want to see too many people, we recommend coming here in the early morning or late afternoon.

Consider a wow pass to skip the line if you still want to spend a full day in Ba Na Hills. In 2026, it includes the priority lane to skip the lane in all cable car stations and buffet restaurants.

April

As spring transitions toward summer, April sees temperatures climbing to a range of 20°C to 27°C. Rainfall remains minimal, typically around 35mm, ensuring most days are bright and dry. This month offers the “sweet spot” of weather—it is warm enough for light clothing during the day but lacks the sweltering humidity found in the lowlands. Visibility across the Truong Son Mountains is usually excellent during this period.

During the Vietnam Reunification Day holiday (30th April), Ba Na Hills celebrates with patriotic fervor, adorning the French Village and Golden Bridge in vibrant Vietnamese flags. Visitors enjoy early summer’s clear skies, festive “Liberation Buffets,” and large-scale carnival parades. However, expect significant crowds as it is one of the resort’s busiest annual periods. During the Vietnam Reunification Day, Ba Na Hills is often crowded. Visitors should go early in the morning (arriving before 8 am) or late in the afternoon (after 4 pm) to avoid long queues.

During the Hung Kings Festival, Ba Na Hills blends traditional Vietnamese reverence with modern festivities. While the spiritual zone hosts incense offerings to honor the nation’s founders, the resort also features vibrant sunflower festivals and street carnivals. Expect clear April weather and large crowds enjoying this significant national holiday. See more information & details

Hung Kings’ Festival dates (celebrated on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) for the years 2025 to 2030:

2025: April 7 (Monday)

2026: April 26 (Sunday)

2027: April 16 (Friday)

2028: April 4 (Tuesday)

2029: April 23 (Monday)

2030: April 12 (Friday)

May

May brings the heat of early summer, with temperatures often reaching between 22°C and 30°C. While the coast below may swelter, the mountain breeze keeps Ba Na Hills refreshing. Rainfall begins to tick upward slightly to about 60mm, usually appearing as brief afternoon showers that quickly clear the air. It is a vibrant month for the gardens and floral displays, though tourist numbers begin to rise significantly.

In early May, Ba Na Hills will welcome lots of Vietnamese visitors thanks to the Reunification Day and International Worker Day. During the last week of May, when the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival begins, crowds are common here. If possible, visitors should plan to visit Ba Na Hills in mid-May.

June

This is one of the warmest months, with average temperatures fluctuating between 24°C and 32°C. Despite being the height of summer, the altitude ensures the air remains much thinner and cooler than in Da Nang. Rainfall averages 80mm, often manifesting as sudden, heavy thunderstorms in the late afternoon. These storms are typically short-lived but can provide a dramatic backdrop to the mountain peaks and lush green valleys.

Ba Na Hills will be crowded from Friday to Sunday every week during June because of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. We recommend going early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. Unless, make sure that you have a wow pass to skip the line at the cable car or the restaurant.

July

July is the peak of the dry season and shares the title of the hottest month, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 33°C. Rainfall is relatively steady at 90mm. The sky is generally clear and blue for the majority of the day, providing the highest probability of unobstructed views from the cable cars. Because it is the peak travel season, expect high humidity and large crowds alongside the sunshine.

We recommend going early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. Unless, make sure that you have a wow pass to skip the line at the cable car or the restaurant.

August

August serves as the transition period between the dry and wet seasons. Temperatures remain high, averaging 23°C to 31°C, but the frequency of rain starts to increase to approximately 120mm. You can expect more frequent clouds and intermittent showers toward the end of the month. While still very suitable for travel, the weather becomes slightly more unpredictable, requiring visitors to be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.

September

The rainy season arrives in September, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature to around 21°C to 28°C. Rainfall spikes sharply, often exceeding 300mm for the month. Tropical depressions can lead to prolonged periods of overcast skies and heavy downpours. While the scenery becomes incredibly lush and green, the mist can be quite thick, sometimes hiding the landmarks entirely. It is a month for those who prefer cooler, wetter conditions.

Vietnam’s Independence Day on September 2nd typically includes a public holiday lasting between one and four days, depending on how the date aligns with the weekend. Ba Na Hills transforms into a festive hub during this period, with the French Village and Golden Bridge decorated in national flags. Visitors can expect larger crowds and a vibrant atmosphere featuring specialized street performances, themed parades, and celebratory cultural shows.

October

October is typically the wettest month of the year on the mountain. Temperatures cool further to between 20°C and 26°C, while rainfall can reach a peak of 500mm or more. Heavy rain and strong winds are common as monsoon season takes full effect. The “four seasons” experience leans heavily toward a cold winter feel. Visitors should expect limited visibility and carry high-quality waterproof gear if they choose to visit now.

November

Rainfall remains very high in November, averaging about 400mm, and the mountain is frequently blanketed in heavy fog. Temperatures continue to slide, staying between 18°C and 24°C. The atmosphere is damp and cool, with very few clear days. While the crowds are at their thinnest, the outdoor attractions can be difficult to enjoy. Indoor activities in the Fantasy Park become the primary draw during this cold, rainy period.

December

December brings the coldest temperatures of the year, often ranging from 15°C to 21°C, with occasional drops toward 10°C during cold snaps. Rainfall begins to taper off to roughly 200mm, but the air remains very humid and chilly. The mountain is often shrouded in a thick, romantic mist that gives the French Village an authentic European winter aesthetic. Warm layers and rain jackets are essential for anyone visiting during this month.

During Christmas and New Year (in the end of December), Ba Na Hills transforms into a “Winter Wonderland” featuring giant 16-meter Christmas trees, artificial snow, and shimmering light displays in the French Village. You can expect festive parades, Santa meet-and-greets, and specialized minishows. The atmosphere is authentically European, complete with holiday treats like stollen and gingerbread, creating a magical, high-altitude celebration. See more information & details
