Try Mi quang noodle & Cao lau noodle

Visit a local family that have been selling Hoi An’s signature local noodle dishes for many decades. Here, you will try these foods:

(1) Mi Quang noodle: a Central Vietnamese specialty featuring thick, turmeric-infused rice noodles, a splash of savory broth, and toppings like shrimp, pork, and quail eggs, all finished with crunchy rice crackers. See more details

(2) Cao Lau noodle: a unique Hoi An specialty featuring chewy, ash-water-soaked noodles, savory sliced pork, and crunchy rice crackers, all served with fresh local herbs and a rich, concentrated broth. See more details

Visit the best photography museum

The Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum, created by French photographer Réhahn, is a free cultural gem housed in a 19th-century French colonial building in the heart of Hoi An. It showcases a stunning collection of large-scale portraits and authentic traditional costumes from all 54 of Vietnam’s ethnic groups, documenting a decade-long journey to preserve the country’s diverse tribal heritage.

Try one of the best Banh mi in Hoi An

Visit a small stall where you will try one of the most delicious Banh mi sandwich (3) in Hoi An.

Hoi An’s banh mi stands out for its exceptionally light, shatteringly crisp baguette and rich, secret-recipe sauces. It earned global fame through its unique balance of creamy pâté, savory roasted meats, and ultra-fresh local herbs, creating a complex flavor profile that distinguishes it from any other sandwich in the world.

Try foods at local eatery by the river

Visit a local restaurant by Thu Bon River, where you can enjoy cool breeze and a pretty view to lantern boats, floating lanterns and the Moonlight Bridge, the bridge with illuminated crescent-moon arches.

At this waterside restaurant, you will try 2-3 typical dishes (4+5) and (6) local beer (if don’t like an alcohol drink, choose a solf drink or juice instead)

Try banana pancake at Fabric market

Meet a vendor near Hoi An Fabric Market and try her banana pancake (7), a beloved street food staple, featuring sweet bananas folded into a thin, golden-crisp dough, often drizzled with chocolate and condensed milk for a perfect treat. See more details
