This afternoon tour shows you My Son Sanctuary and after it, a sunset boat trip on Thu Bon River, the largest river in the area. The sanctuary is known as a complex of over 70 Hindu temples and towers that are constructed from the 4th to 14th centuries. Here, Cham people and emperors of the Champa kingdom worshipped Shiva god. Until today, building techniques they used are not fully discovered yet. In 1999, My Son was inscribed by Unesco to be a world heritage site. It’s called ‘Angkor Wat of Vietnam’ by many travelers. The laid-back boat trip takes you back to Hoi An city center, providing the chance to watch the sunset on the river, view the rural scenery and escape from the traffic.

My Son Sanctuary
Hidden away in the mountains, My Son Sanctuary is the holy land of Cham people who owned the Champa kingdom from the 2nd to 19th centuries. It has more than 70 buildings. The oldest one was constructed in the 4th century. Here, Shiva is the main deity. After the 14th century, My Son was abandoned and then invaded by forests. In the Vietnam War, it’s damaged by bombings from the USA air force. See more details
From the main entrance, visitors will take a transfer by buggy car to skip a 2-kilometers-long walk to the temple zone (still walk after this ride).
In My Son Sanctuary, visitors will see Temple B-C-D (the largest group), Temple A, Temple G, Temple E, Temple F and ruins along the trekking trail. See more details

Boat Trip on Thu Bon River
Take a private wooden boat to go downstream the Thu Bon River, the largest river in the area. During the ride, you will enjoy cool wind, watching peaceful rural areas along the banks, local life and herbs of animals. If go in late afternoon, have the chance to see and photograph a brilliant sunset. This is a perfect way to escape from high traffic on highways and immerse into the nature. See more details

– Our driver & guide will pick you at your hotel in Da Nang city center (including Hai Chau District, Son Tra District except Nai Hien Dong ward & Tho Quang ward, Ngu Hanh Son District except Hoa Hai ward & Hoa Quy ward) or Hoi An city center.

My Son tour with Mr Ken
Sunrise tour to My Son sanctuary with Mr Ken was delightful. The temples were amazing and Mr Kens knowledge of the site and the history made the visit all the more fulfilling. Mr Ken is also a very good photographer and took lots of wonderful pictures of myself and my husband. On the return journey to Hoi An we enjoyed very much hearing the history of Vietnam. A very enjoyable educational experience.
Great afternoon tour
As we travelled on the bus our tour guide Owen told us alot about the history of My Son. Owen kept us entertained with facts and stories. My Son was a very interesting place to visit. Many dont realise about the Champa kingdom and the Hindu temples in Vietnam. Set in a “jungle”; , great to experience. Owen was very knowledgeable, interesting and funny. There was just the right amount of time to explore. Owen arranged a banh mi for all to eat on the boat trip back into Hoi An old town. A great afternoon tour.
