This tour shows you all highlights of Hoi An Ancient Town at night, the best time to visit it. After the sunset, the town becomes so colorful, lovely and vibrant because of a large number of lanterns. In its heart, the 17th-century Japanese Bridge is a must see. On the river, you will have a memorable boat ride to watch the brilliant townscape and to release candle lanterns to take pictures or make wishes. Walk through the streets with most lanterns, will see two largest night markets where lots of street food and local products are for sale. Have dinner with authentic Vietnamese food.
*Join traditional Lantern festival if visit in the full moon day.

Meet up time: 4:00 PM (local time)

Our guide will see you at the meeting point – Phap Bao Pagoda on Hai Ba Trung Street (near crossroad of Phan Chu Trinh Street).

Traditional handicraft workshop

Hoi An is famous for diverse traditional crafts and arts thanks to its past role as a trading port. It’s inscribed by Unesco to be a Creative City in category of crafts and folk arts. Here, have the chance to know better about silk making, lantern making, silk-painting making, garment making and more.

Phung Hung Old House (pass by)

Japanese Covered Bridge

Visit the most iconic landmark of Hoi An Ancient Town, a world heritage site. It’s constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people and later, restored by Chinese people. It’s known as ‘Pagoda Bridge’ by the locals because there is a small temple here. Because very famous, visitors will have at least one photo in this bridge. See more details

Cantonese Assembly Hall

The Cantonese Assembly Hall is a prominent cultural and historical landmark in Hoi An Ancient Town, built by the Cantonese Chinese community in 1885. It served as a spiritual and community center for the merchants, showcasing distinct Chinese architecture, and primarily worships the revered general Quan Cong. See more details

Tan Ky Old House

Visit the most typical merchant house in Hoi An. It’s constructed in the 18th century and since then, has been nearly unchanged. In the front, this house is by a busy trading road and in the back, it opens to the quay where the boats dock. It’s furnished by fine wooden furniture and decorated by be elaborate wooden carvings and mother-of-pearl paintings. Flood levels over the years are shown in the Back hall. See more details

In the sunset, walk across An Hoi Bridge (aka Bridge of Lights), catch an incredible view of Hoi An’s Old Town at night and Hoai River with lots of boats and floating candles. 

Hoi An Night Market

Visit the biggest night market in Hoi An. Here, local people sell a variety of street food and souvenirs, making it a paradise for food lovers and shopaholics. At lantern shops, have an opportunity to take beautiful and impressive photos. Because this is the busiest place in town, the atmosphere is vibrant and lively. See more details

Boat ride on Hoai River & lantern release

Go on a leisurely boat ride on Hoai River which runs through the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town. During it, visitors enjoy watching a sparkling and colorful townscape as well as take beautiful photos. To do what locals do, each visitor has one candle lantern to lit up and then release to make wishes. This is a must-do activity in Hoi An at night. See more details

Folk game of Bai Choi

Bài Chòi is a distinctive folk art form and game from Central Vietnam that combines a card-matching game, similar to bingo, with lively musical performance, singing, and acting. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, it is often performed in Hoi An by a host who sings out card names in the form of rhyming verses or riddles. See more details

The night market near the Hoi An Central Market comes alive every evening, transforming the area across the Hoai River into a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare. It is a vibrant hub where visitors can shop for colorful silk lanterns and unique souvenirs, or indulge in a wide variety of delicious local street food.

Have dinner at famous local eatery

Visit a local-family restaurant tucked away in a small laneway to try these dishes:

Banh xeo: a savory, crispy Vietnamese pancake made from rice flour and turmeric, folded around a filling of shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, and traditionally served with fresh herbs and dipping sauce. This is the best seller of the eatery. Visitors can watch how people make it before tasting. See more details

Cao lau noodles: a specialty noodle dish unique to Hoi An, featuring thick, chewy noodles supposedly made using water from a specific ancient well, topped with slices of char siu-style pork, fresh herbs, crispy cracklings, and a rich, light sauce. See more details

Hoi An style grilled pork skewer: a beloved street food featuring thin strips of pork marinated in spices like lemongrass and five-spice powder, which are then charcoal-grilled and traditionally served with rice paper, fresh herbs, and a savory peanut-based dipping sauce for rolling. Nem lui (also grilled pork skewer): a Central Vietnamese specialty consisting of seasoned ground pork molded around a lemongrass stalk or bamboo skewer, grilled over charcoal, and traditionally eaten by wrapping it in rice paper with fresh herbs and dipping into a rich peanut sauce.

Fried spring rolls: crispy, golden cylinders filled with a savory mixture of ground meat, cellophane noodles, mushrooms, and vegetables, traditionally served with a dipping sauce. 

Tour ends

After the dinner, the tour ends. From the restaurant, you can walk back to the Old Town to enjoy the nightlife.
