This full day tour shows you the Marble Mountains and highlights of Hoi An. The group of mountains is well known for striking hills rising suddenly from the city, ancient Buddhist temples and amazing caves. In the below area, Vietnamese people have carved stone sculptures for over 500 years and exported them to many countries today. In Hoi An’s countryside, will discover a coconut forest by basket boat that is rowed by local man through small canals and watch ‘spinning boats’. After that, have lunch at a Halal certified restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Hoi An Ancient Town, one of the most bustling trading ports in Asia between the 15th and 19th centuries. It’s inscribed as a Unesco world heritage site in 1999. After sunset, it becomes brilliant and atmospheric because of thousands of colorful lanterns on the streets and shimmering floating lanterns on the river. Its nickname is ‘city of lanterns’.

Our driver and guide will pick up you at your hotel in Da Nang city center / My Khe Beach / Non Nuoc Beach. 

The Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains is a group of 5 mountains that rise suddenly from the surrounding plain, near the coast. Named after the elements of Five Elements, there are ‘water’, ‘fire’, ‘wood’, ‘earth’ and ‘metal’ mountains here. To see its sights, visitors need to climb many stairs. See more details

Here is the list of places which you will visit in the Marble Mountains:

– Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village: see lots of marble sculptures that vary in size, shape and color. Local people started carving stone to make them 300 years ago and now this long-standing tradition is a national intangible cultural heritage. See more details

– Huyen Khong Cave: the biggest cave in the mountain. Visitors will be amazed by fascinating beams of light falling from its ceiling and learn about local beliefs. See more details

Tang Chon Cave: an arch marble cave with many chambers. Each chamber has its own stories and deities. See more details

There are some Buddhist temples in Marble Mountains to sightsee if you are interested.

Cam Thanh Coconut Village

Located near the estuary of Thu Bon River, Cam Thanh Coconut Village is known for many thatched roof houses, fishing harbors and a vast water coconut (nipa palm) forest. Here, you will have a boat trip to discover the forest by a basket boat, the unique fishing vessel of local fishermen. After narrow and winding canals, watch the fascinating performance of ‘spinning boats’. See more details

Hoi An Ancient Town

Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. In 1999, it’s honored to be a world heritage site. This town is famous for pretty narrow streets with yellow-wall houses, colorful lanterns and many tailor shops. It’s also one of the most photographed places in Vietnam. See more details

In Hoi An, you will see these places:

– Japanese Covered Bridge: the symbol of Hoi An. This wooden building was constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people. Today, it’s also called ‘Pagoda bridge’ because it has a small temple where the locals worship a Taoist god. See more details

– Tan Ky Old House: the most typical old wooden house in Hoi An. Its main entrance is on a main street and its back is by the river (or quay). The family who owns it, sold the silk and cinnamon in the past and the wealth of the family is reflected by premium furniture, collections of antiquities and decorative items. In the last hall, visitors can see the water levels of the floods by year. See more details

– Traditional handicrafts workshop: meet a local woman wearing traditional ao dai dress and listen to her introduction about Hoi An’s local handicrafts (silk making, lantern making, garment making, silk painting making, etc)

Hoi An Night Market

Visit the biggest night market in Hoi An. Here, local people sell a variety of street food and souvenirs, making it a paradise for food lovers and shopaholics. At lantern shops, have an opportunity to take beautiful and impressive photos. Because this is the busiest place in town, the atmosphere is vibrant and lively.  See more details
 
We recommend doing a boat ride on the river to watch the lovely town at night and release the lanterns (by your own expense). See more details 
 
Around the night market and old quarters, you can find good restaurants to have dinner by your own expense before going back to Da Nang. Hoi An’s specialty dishes are Cao lau noodles, Mi quang noodles, White rose dumplings, Fried wonton, Banh mi sandwich, grilled pork with rice paper and raw vegetables, more. See more details
 

Return & Drop off

Walk to the pick up point (outside the Hoi An pedestrian zone) to see our driver & return to Da Nang. In the city, we will drop you off in your hotel. The tour ends.

What to bring/wear

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash.

To visit historical places, visitors should wear respectively. In other words, wear long pants to cover the upper knees, wear the shirt to cover shoulders, navel and armpits.
