Hoi An Morning Walking Tour
In the beginning of this tour, you will visit the biggest and the biggest local market in Hoi An. Here, you see lots of local fresh vegetables and fish as well as authentic local life. Our guide introduces traditional cakes which local people eat for breakfast, and learn about local breakfast culture. There are banh tieu (hollow donut), banh bo (cow cake), banh cam (sesame balls), boiled fruits and nuts (peanut, banana, tapioca, sweet potato,…) and more.
Next, try Hoi An style Pho (noodle soup) at a local restaurant tucked away in a small alley of the Old Town. It’s run by a family for many decades. Here, the guests are mostly local residents. Our guide will tell you the differences between this dish and other noodles in the country as well as how to eat it like a local.
Stop at a small local store where the most famous beverage is sold, ‘Mot herbal tea’. This drink is made of different herbs and medicine, giving a great flavors. Nowhere else in Vietnam, you can find the same thing. Nearby, learn about Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, a Polish architect who had many contributions to Hoi An Ancient Town.
Walking through small alleys again, you will find Ba Le Well, the most famous well in town. Fresh water from this well is a must have ingredient for different specialty foods of Hoi An. Nowadays, a few people still sell it to earn for living.
The next place is a house where the sweet black sesame soup, one of special dishes in Hoi An, has been made by many generations and over decades. The first maker, Mr Ngo Thieu, is honored to be ‘pudding master’. Here, learn about ingredients and process to make the soup, how to eat it as well as stories about family members.
Keep going with Banh Mi (sandwich). Our guide takes you to one of the best places in Hoi An to try it and learn about its history. Local banh mi is known as the most delicious one in Vietnam, so no visitors should miss it.
End the tour
The tour ends in Hoi An Old Town. After saying goodbye to our guide, you can freely explore this heritage area or go back to the hotel to relax.

What to bring/wear
Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash.
To visit the temples, please wear respectively. In other words, make sure that the pants cover the upper knees and the shirt covers the navel, shoulders, armpits.
