Hoi An Memories Land Theme Park
The highlights of the park can be grouped into two main categories: the Grand Outdoor Show and the Themed Park Attractions/Mini-Shows.
1. The Grand Highlight: The Hoi An Memories Show
The park’s main feature is the spectacular Hoi An Memories Show, often described as Vietnam’s largest-scale outdoor visual art performance.
Massive Production: Features over 500 performers on an enormous outdoor stage (about 25,000 sqm).
Historical Narrative: The show takes the audience on a journey through 400 years of Hoi An’s history, from its beginnings as a tranquil farming village to its golden age as an international trading port, told through dance, music, stunning lighting, and water effects.
Key Acts: It covers major historical episodes, including the arrival of early settlers, a royal union, the bustling trading port, and a segment celebrating the Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress).
2. Themed Park Attractions and Mini-Shows
The park itself is an immersive experience that opens before the main show, with attractions and continuous smaller performances scattered throughout its themed areas:
Themed Villages and Zones:
Vietnamese Village: Recreates a traditional countryside setting with rustic architecture, gardens, and demonstrations of traditional crafts like lantern making and conical hat weaving.
Japanese Village: Features Japanese-inspired architecture, reflecting the large Japanese community that once resided in Hoi An. It hosts mini-shows like the Yosakoi Dance and features a Japanese-style garden.
Chinese Village: Simulates the atmosphere of the Chinese merchant quarters, showcasing the Chinese-Vietnamese cultural fusion in architecture and cuisine.
Commercial Zone: A lively recreation of the 17th-century trading port, complete with merchant stalls, ships, and performers reenacting trade scenarios with merchants from the East and West.
Thien Duc Spiritual Area: A serene space with traditional architecture dedicated to spirituality and Vietnamese cultural values.
Interactive Mini-Shows:
Throughout the park in the evening (before the main show), there are numerous smaller, interactive performances that bring Vietnamese folklore and historical events to life. Popular examples include:
Wedding Ceremony of Princess Ngoc Hoa: Reenacting the historical marriage between a Vietnamese princess and a Japanese merchant, symbolizing a strong diplomatic relationship.
Love Story of the Silkworm Goddess: A romantic tale that also highlights the development of the silk industry in the region.
Trai Ho Fighting the Tiger: A heroic tale about a local man fighting a tiger to protect his village.
The Happy Forest: A performance recreating the entertainment scene of ancient taverns.

Hoi An Memories Show (8 to 9 PM, no Tuesday)
Hoi An Memories Show is divided into five main acts, with a total of over 500 performers on a 25,000 square meter stage.
Key highlights and scenes from the show include:
Life (The Roots of Hoi An): Depicting the humble beginnings of Hoi An as a small, peaceful fishing and farming village. It often features scenes of everyday life, such as weaving, fishing, and the birth of a new life, marking the town’s formation.
Wedding (A Royal Union): A magnificent reenactment of the historical marriage of Princess Huyền Trân to the Champa King, symbolizing diplomacy, peace, and the cultural harmony between the Đại Việt and Champa civilizations. This act is often visually stunning, sometimes including a parade with a giant elephant prop.
Lights and Sea (The Lantern and the Wait): A poetic and emotional segment that focuses on the love and loyalty of Hoi An women. A common scene is a girl releasing lanterns on the river, patiently waiting for her sailor lover or husband to return from the challenging sea voyage, symbolizing hope and steadfast devotion. This is often where the iconic Hoi An lanterns are heavily featured.
Integration (The International Port): Recreating the golden age of Hoi An as the bustling international trading port of Faifo in the 16th-17th centuries. This vibrant scene shows merchants from Japan, China, India, and Europe arriving by ship, showcasing the town’s rich cultural exchange and prosperity.
Ao Dai (Tradition Meets Modernity): The finale that celebrates modern-day Hoi An. It features a stunning display of performers in the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dress, symbolizing the timeless beauty, grace, and enduring spirit of the town, connecting the past with the present.
The entire performance uses world-class lighting, sound, special effects, and a non-verbal narrative (using choreography, music, and visuals) to create a moving and immersive journey through time.
