This day tour shows both urban and rural areas of Hoi An, a charming coastal town in central Vietnam. In the morning, cycle through Cam Kim Island to see villages, rice fields, local life and traditional handicrafts. Have the chance to learn about how to make rice papers, rice noodles, sedge mats, wooden sculptures, and boats. In the afternoon, visit the most important historical sites of Hoi An Ancient Town, one of the most bustling trading ports in Asia between the 15th and 19th centuries. It’s inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1999. Have lunch with authentic Vietnamese food at a local restaurant.

Cam Kim Island (by bicycle & boat)

Cam Kim Island is a tranquil, rural escape directly across the river from Hoi An’s Old Town, providing a beautiful contrast of vast, peaceful rice fields and quiet village lanes. Easily accessible by the metal bridge, it offers visitors a gentle immersion into authentic Central Vietnamese countryside life and farming traditions. See more details

In Cam Kim Island, visitors will do these activities:

– Cycling across villages, rice fields and a metal bridge spanning Thu Bon River

– Learn how to make rice papers and rice noodles from local artisans. See details

– Learn how to make a traditional sleeping mat by sedges. See details

– Visit Kim Bong Carpentry Village which has a tradition of wood carving and boat building for nearly 500 years.

– Boat trip on Thu Bon River

Hoi An Ancient Town (walking)

Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. In 1999, it’s honored to be a world heritage site. This town is famous for pretty narrow streets with yellow-wall houses, colorful lanterns and many tailor shops. It’s also one of the most photographed places in Vietnam. See more details

In Hoi An, you will see these places:

Japanese Covered Bridge: the symbol of Hoi An. This wooden building was constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people. Today, it’s also called ‘Pagoda bridge’ because it has a small temple where the locals worship a Taoist god. See more details

Tan Ky Old House: the most typical old wooden house in Hoi An. Its main entrance is on a main street and its back is by the river (or quay). The family who owns it, sold the silk and cinnamon in the past and the wealth of the family is reflected by premium furniture, collections of antiquities and decorative items. In the last hall, visitors can see the water levels of the floods by year. See more details

Hoi An Traditional Art Performance House: watch the show in which traditional art of singing, dancing, opera, musical instruments, bingo game are performed by local artists. See more details

Cantonese Assembly Hall: one of the largest Chinese assembly halls in Hoi An. It hosts communal activities and special occasions of Cantonese Chinese congregation as well as worship of Quan Cong, a Chinese military general and god. See more details 

Traditional handicrafts workshop: meet a local woman wearing traditional ao dai dress and listen to her introduction about Hoi An’s local handicrafts (silk making, lantern making, garment making, silk painting making, etc)

Return & Drop off

The tour will end at Hoi An’s Old Town, and then you will have free time to explore it yourself (like shopping, lantern making class,…).

In Da Nang, we will drop you off in your hotel within city center or My Khe Beach area (if booked a transfer with us).
