History of Golden Hands Bridge Cable Car
The cable car to Golden Hands Bridge was opened on 18th March 2022, to commemorate the 47th Da Nang Liberation Day and the 47th Vietnam Unification Day. It’s known as Ba Na Hills Cable Car 4, one of cable cars in Ba Na Hills, a renowned tourist attraction and theme park in Vietnam. Its length is 5,261 meters (approx 3,2 miles), connecting the Hoi An Station with the Marseille Station (which lies at an elevation of 1,414 meters). Travel time on this cable car is 15-20 minutes, depending on the weather. Each car can carry 10-12 passengers.
Meanwhile, the cable car from Golden Hands Bridge to the French Village, another zone of Ba Na Hills, was opened. It’s 672 meters long (approx 0,4 miles), so the ride on it is only 5 minutes. There are two stations: Bordeaux Station and Louvre Station. This is the shortest cable car in the area.
On the same day, Ba Na Hills Funicular 2 was inaugurated also. This funicular goes from the Mystery Well Station, an underground station in the French Village to the Dragon Den Station, an underground station in the Lunar Castle. See more information & details

The Hoi An Station: How to Get There?
See also: Hoi An Cable Car Station in Ba Na Hills
The Hoi An Station is the departure station of the Golden Hands Bridge cable car. It’s located at the foot of Ba Na Hills. From Da Nang or Hoi An or Hue or Da Nang Airport or Da Nang Train Station, visitors can hire a private car/bus/minivan or ride the motorbike to this famous amusement park.
No matter which kind of transport, visitors will walk to the Hoi An Station from the main entrance of Ba Na Hills. After entering the Big Gate (looks like Meridian Gate at Hue Imperial City), get the escalator on the right side and then follow the sign ‘way to Hoi An Station’. Along the way, the staff always have a smile on their face and show the right direction to the station. For that reason, do not worry about getting lost!
In the morning, the Hoi An Station is crowded. To beat the crowd, visitors can be here before 8 am. Meaning that the trip should start at 7 am from Da Nang or 6:30 am from Hoi An. If come at noon or later, there are not many people coming, and sure, won’t have to wait too long to get the cable car. See more information & details
After landing at the Marseille Station, visitors need to get off the cable cars, walk upstairs (or take the escalator) and then the Golden Hands Bridge is a short walk.
If come to Ba Na Hills after 3 pm, visitors can use the elevator/escalator or claim the stair lying on the left hand side of the reception area, to get to the Hoi An Station. This is the shortest way but is not for those who visit earlier than 3 pm. The reason is that the company wants ‘late comers’ to have as much time as possible to see the Golden Hands Bridge and other attractions before it becomes dark.
Like its name, the Hoi An Station is to honor Hoi An Ancient Town, a Unesco world heritage site in the area. It has shophouses with yellow brick walls, tile roof, lanterns and bougainvillea flower that are typical to the town. More special, the covered way from the main entrance to the station has a beautiful painted ceiling which portrays exactly the town in reality. Inside the station, boats and floating lanterns on Hoai River are also ‘hang up’ to decorate.
Other Cable Cars to Golden Hands Bridge
On some days during the year, the cable car to Golden Hands Bridge is closed. For that reason, visitors need to ride one of the other cable cars in Ba Na Hills to go up the mountain and then get a transfer to see the bridge.
If the cable car to Golden Hands Bridge is closed, visitors may need to go to Thac Toc Tien Station or Champa Station to get another cable car. Both of these stations are in a higher location than the Hoi An Station, so anyway it’s needed to climb stairs or take the escalator/elevator. Thac Toc Tien Station is nearer than Champa Station. Additionally, both cable cars will land at the French Village, particularly L’Indochina Station, on the top of the mountain.
After getting off the car, go upstairs and then find the quickest way to walk to Louvre Station. If do not go with a local guide, let’s ask the staff in information booths near the entrance of the L’Indochine Station. Louvre Station is underground, and from here, cable cars will carry passengers to Bordeaux Station (which lies in another mountain). After getting off, go downstairs and the Golden Hands Bridge is on the left side.
Sometimes, visitors must get the cable car from Suoi Mo Station, the oldest station in Ba Na Hills. It’s not far way from the Hoi An Station and no escalator/elevator is needed to get there. It takes passengers about 15 minutes to complete the cable car ride. After landing at the Ba Na Station, walk outside and use the Ba Na Hills Funicular 1 to reach the hilltop where the Golden Hands Bridge is located. This train ride is only 2 minutes, but the queue at the departure station is quite long (because people come to it at the same time). Each time, the train can carry up to 80 people. After it arrives at the upper station (hilltop), walk outside and follow the path on the left side to see the bridge.
