Hoi An is located in central Vietnam, about 30 kilometers south of Da Nang city and Da Nang International Airport. It’s also near the estuary of Thu Bon River, the largest river in the area.

On the way to Hoi An, the Marble Mountains is a must see attraction. Here, visitors will find 5 striking outcrops which have sheer cliffs, ancient temples and amazing caves. It’s needed to climb many stairs to explore.
To the northwest of Da Nang city center, there is Son Tra Peninsula (aka Monkey Mountain). One of its peaks, Ban Co Peak, offering a breath-taking view. On its south coast, Linh Ung Pagoda is bigger than any other temples in the city. Its highlight is the giant Lady Buddha (Goddess of Mercy) that rises up to 67 meters from the ground.
1 hour away from Da Nang city center, Ba Na Hills is a massive theme park at elevation of 1,400 meters. It’s needed to take a cable car ride to get there (one of world’s longest cable cars). Golden Hands Bridge, a globally famous tourist attraction in Vietnam, lies within this park. Besides it, visitors can go to Linh Ung Pagoda with a giant Buddha, flower gardens, wine cellar, castles, plazas, church, French Village, brew house, Fantasy Park, alpine coasters,…. and Nui Chua summit, the top of Da Nang (at altitude of 1,487 meters).
Not far away, Hoa Phu Thanh Tourist Area is famous for fascinating white water rafting and Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park boasts extensive lakes and springs fed by natural hot mineral water, bringing swimmers many health benefits.
On the way to Hue city, visitors will see Hai Van Pass which has the most beautiful coastal road in Vietnam. At its top, at an elevation of nearly 500 meters, there is Hai Van Gate. If possible, should discover this place by motorbike (riding yourself or booking a motorbike tour).
If looking for a water park for your children, Mikazuki Water Park 365 is one of the best choices in Da Nang. It offers the longest/largest indoor wave pool, water slide and lazy river in Vietnam. Here, visitors also have the chance to experience Japanese Onsen (hot mineral water bathing).

Map of Da Nang’s Famous Bridges
One of nicknames of Da Nang is ‘city of bridges’. In the city downtown, there are many bridges cross the Han River, and each one has its own special characteristics. Travelers can visit Han River Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. On the East bank, Love Lock Bridge is one of the most romantic spots for couples.
In the evening, from Friday to Sunday, the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water. Watching it is a fun activity, especially for families with kids. In the midnight, the Han River Bridges rotates, making it the last surviving swing bridge in Vietnam.
At an elevation of 1,414 meters, within Ba Na Hills theme park, Golden Hands Bridge draws millions of visitors a year thanks to its unique design and amazing view from it. To get there, people experience one of world’s longest cable car rides.

Map of Da Nang’s Beaches
Da Nang Vietnam has a lengthy coastline. The beaches here are on the East coast (stretching from Son Tra Mountain to Hoi An). Amongst them, the most famed beach is My Khe Beach that was ever praised to be one of world’s most sexy beaches by Forbes. Nearby, My An Beach and Phuoc My Beach also have a wide strand of fine sand by crystal-clear water and coconut trees as well as a good view to a 67-meters-tall Lady Buddha. Towards Hoi An, Non Nuoc Beach is nearly private, lined by mega hotels and resorts.
To the northeast of Da Nang city center, Son Tra Peninsula owns the most impressive coast. It’s dotted with sandy and stone beaches. The best beaches here are Tien Sa Beach, South Beach, and North Beach (lying inside the Intercontinental Resort). See all beaches in Son Tra Peninsula
By the bay, visitors will see less touristy beaches such as Thanh Khe Beach, Xuan Thieu Beach or Nam O Beach.
At the foot of Hai Van Pass, Lang Van Beach is crescent, long, clean, and free from tourist activities. Local people often come here in the weekend to go camping.

Da Nang Self Guided Walking Tour Map
Da Nang city downtown is quite walkable, and it has many stunning places to visit.
We recommend a walking tour started at Dien Hai Citadel, the oldest historical remains of the city, and ended at Love Lock Bridge on the other side of the Han River. From the citadel, go along the riverside promenade to see Da Nang Museum, Han River Bridge, Han Market, Da Nang Cathedral, Museum of Cham Sculpture and APEC Park. After that, cross the Dragon Bridge to visit Dragon Carp Statue, Love Bridge and later, Son Tra Night Market (opened after sunset).
If like a shorter distance, let’s start walking from Han Market. Around the route, will see some Michelin star restaurants and famous local stalls.
