This full day tour shows you highlights of both Da Nang and Hoi An, two of Vietnam’s most famous tourist destinations. In the Marble Mountains, will climb the stairs to the top of the highest mountain where holy temples and majestic caves are seen. Around the village below, have the chance to see hundreds of stone sculptures made by locals. In the Monkey Mountain (Son Tra Mountain), will visit Linh Ung Pagoda, the biggest Buddhist temple in the area. On a hilltop by the sea, it’s well known for 67-meters-tall Lady Buddha statue (one of Vietnam’s tallest Buddha statues), grand buildings, plenty of creative bonsai trees and marble sculptures. In the afternoon, embark a boat trip into a lush coconut forest. Visit the most important historical sites of Hoi An Ancient Town, one of the most bustling trading ports in Asia between the 15th and 19th centuries. It’s inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1999. At night, it’s lit up by millions of lanterns and by that, becomes internationally well-known.

Our driver and guide will pick up you at your hotel in Da Nang city center or My Khe Beach. 

The Monkey Mountain

The Monkey Mountain of Da Nang is known as Son Tra Mountain. This 6,000-hectares mountain is surrounded by the sea on three sides. It’s home to untouched forests with a high diversity of animals, spectacular coastline and beautiful beaches. See more details 

Here are places that you will visit in the Monkey Mountain:

Linh Ung Pagoda: the biggest Buddhist temple in the area. Built on the hilltop from 2004 to 2010, it has very large worshipping halls, tall towers, numerous bonsai trees and plenty of stone sculptures. The view from here is awe-inspiring. See more details

– Lady Buddha: a statue of Lady Buddha (Goddess of Mercy) rising up to 67 meters from the surrounding. It’s one of the tallest Buddha statues in Vietnam. See more details 

The Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains is a group of 5 mountains that rise suddenly from the surrounding plain, near the coast. Named after the elements of Five Elements, there are ‘water’, ‘fire’, ‘wood’, ‘earth’ and ‘metal’ mountains here. To see its sights, visitors need to climb many stairs. See more details

Here is the list of places which you will visit in the Marble Mountains:

– Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village: see lots of marble sculptures that vary in size, shape and color. Local people started carving stone to make them 300 years ago and now this long-standing tradition is a national intangible cultural heritage. See more details

– Linh Ung Pagoda: the most well-known Buddhist temple in the mountain. Built in the 19th century, it’s the oldest one in three famous pagodas of the same name in the area. See more details

– Huyen Khong Cave: the biggest cave in the mountain. Visitors will be amazed by fascinating beams of light falling from its ceiling and learn about local beliefs. See more details

– Tam Thai Pagoda: one of the holiest Buddhist temples in the area. It’s constructed in the 19th century by request of Minh Mang king whose father promised to build it many years before. See more details

Cam Thanh Coconut Village

Located near the estuary of Thu Bon River, Cam Thanh Coconut Village is known for many thatched roof houses, fishing harbors and a vast water coconut (nipa palm) forest. Here, you will have a boat trip to discover the forest by a basket boat, the unique fishing vessel of local fishermen. After narrow and winding canals, watch the fascinating performance of ‘spinning boats’. See more details

Hoi An Old Town

Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. In 1999, it’s honored to be a world heritage site. This town is famous for pretty narrow streets with yellow-wall houses, colorful lanterns and many tailor shops. It’s also one of the most photographed places in Vietnam. See more details

In Hoi An, you will see these places:

– Japanese Covered Bridge: the symbol of Hoi An. This wooden building was constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people. Today, it’s also called ‘Pagoda bridge’ because it has a small temple where the locals worship a Taoist god. See more details

– Tan Ky Old House: the most typical old wooden house in Hoi An. Its main entrance is on a main street and its back is by the river (or quay). The family who owns it, sold the silk and cinnamon in the past and the wealth of the family is reflected by premium furniture, collections of antiquities and decorative items. In the last hall, visitors can see the water levels of the floods by year. See more details

– Hoi An Traditional Art Performance House: watch the show in which traditional art of singing, dancing, opera, musical instruments, bingo game are performed by local artists. See more details

– Cantonese Assembly Hall: one of the largest Chinese assembly halls in Hoi An. It hosts communal activities and special occasions of Cantonese Chinese congregation as well as worship of Quan Cong, a Chinese military general and god. See more details 

– Traditional handicrafts workshop: meet a local woman wearing traditional ao dai dress and listen to her introduction about Hoi An’s local handicrafts (silk making, lantern making, garment making, silk painting making, etc)

Return & Drop off

Walk to the pick up point (outside the Hoi An pedestrian zone) to see ou driver & return to Da Nang. In the city, we will drop you off in your hotel. The tour ends.

What to bring/wear

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash. 

To visit historical places, visitors should wear respectively. In other words, wear long pants to cover the upper knees, wear the shirt to cover shoulders, navel and armpits.
