Ba Na Hills Climate & Seasons
Ba Na Hills is in Da Nang city, central Vietnam. This region has two distinct seasons: the dry season (from February to end of August), and the rainy season or wet season (from September to January). Due to its high mountain location (elevation of 1,400m and above), Ba Na Hills’s weather and climate have differences from lower city.
About the temperature, the average annual temperature is from 17 to 20oC, and lower than Da Nang city 7-8 degrees. So, visitors always feel cool and comfortable when staying in Ba Na Hills. Back to history, thanks to this natural feature, French people established a hill station here, to beat the tropical heat and for leisure and recreation activities. Nowadays, there’re a couple of hotels constructed for the same purpose. At night, it is definitely colder. Visitors coming from hot countries will feel frozen in the wet season.
The highest temperatures at Ba Na Hills are 25-30 degrees Celsius, and the lowest ones are 0-2 degrees Celsius.
Best Months to Visit Ba Na Hills
The best months to go to Ba Na Hills are the sunny months, from February (Vietnamese new year festival or Tet) to the end of August. This period is characterized by a clear sky from morning to evening, (little) windy, and the smallest chance of rain or typhoon. It means that visitors will explore the area without worries about being wet or nothing much to see/do. It’s great to fully admire the fascinating scenery of the mountains (from cable cars or the peaks), take photos of amazing buildings (such as Golden hands bridge) or colorful gardens, join fun-filled outdoor celebrations and feasts, and enjoy the cool breeze blowing around. Unquestionably, the most stunning activities are held here day to day. During months of the most beautiful weather, Ba Na Hills is definitely a must-go attraction and a visit here is really good value for money. It’s the time that visitors won’t miss anything.
Interestingly, thanks to special geographical location, from February to the end of August, it often rains at Ba Na Hills in the afternoon. After the rain, the temperature starts going down, and the atmosphere becomes more pleasant and fresher. This is the reason why visitors spend a full day here (not just because of many things to do). Sunset is another thing to expect at Ba Na Hills also. It’s brilliant and so fantastic. The Golden Hands Bridge or Nui Chua Summit are two best spots to see it. In the evening, the hill station sometimes looks fairy in the midst and sometimes looks lightful without fog. More information & details
