Try Banh mi at Madam Khanh

This humble, iconic street food stall has been run by the beloved Mrs. Lộc for over three decades, earning her the title “The Bánh Mì Queen.” Her famous Vietnamese sandwich is celebrated for its secret homemade sauce and perfectly balanced, layered fillings, which include pâté, pork, and a fried egg. Ba Le Well

Visit Ba Le Well, dating back to the 10th century and dug by the Cham people, the ancient Ba Le Well is revered as a vital cultural and culinary fixture in Hoi An, famous for its uniquely pure water considered essential for making traditional dishes like Cao lau noodles (will try later in this tour).

Despite the advent of modern plumbing, a few dedicated individuals still sustain a living by carrying and selling this prized well water to local restaurants, thus preserving a centuries-old culinary tradition.

Try black sesame soup

Visit home of Mr Ngo Thieu, who has been honored with the title ‘pudding master’ for making and selling the traditional sweet black sesame soup (xi ma or chi ma phu) for decades. After his death, his family members still keep the tradition of making this soup.

Try black sesame soup, a unique, traditional dessert with roots in Chinese culinary culture. This subtly sweet, dark, and velvety soup is made from ground black sesame seeds, combined with ingredients like kudzu/sweet potato starch, sugar, and sometimes fragrant herbs for a distinctive nutty and nourishing flavor. See more details

This is a must-visit destination for travelers looking to sample authentic Central Vietnamese preparations from multiple vendors in a lively, affordable, and quintessential market atmosphere.

Have a dessert at night market

Walk through a night market with numerous street food and souvenir stalls. It’s less busy than the famous one near Japanese Bridge.

Here, you’ll have a dessert with banana pancake. It features mashed or sliced ripe banana wrapped in a thin, fried batter made from wheat flour. Vendors often finish it with a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce or condensed milk, offering a rich, comforting dessert.
