Schedule of Da Nang to Hue Tourist Train (Heritage Train)

Currently, there are two tourist trains (heritage trains) going from Da Nang to Hue. Here is their timetable:

– HD2 (or morning train): 7:45 AM to 11:30 AM

– HD4 (or afternoon train): 2:20 PM to 5:30 PM

These trains typically include a 10-minute stop at Lang Co Train Station for sightseeing and photos.

Depending on personal travel plan, visitors can choose morning or afternoon train (HD2 or HD4 train) to explore the area. So which one is better?

HD2 is the earliest train of the day, therefore those who take it, will have more time to visit Hue’s historical places such as the Imperial City or royal tombs. However, it’s needed to start the day early in the morning, and if base in Hoi An or Ba Na Hills, visitors will spend 45-60 minutes to reach the railway station.

Because HD4 departs in the early afternoon, visitors can relax in the morning and go to the railway station after check in and/or have lunch. Those who stay overnight in Hoi An or Ba Na Hills won’t feel too rushed. Even if want to see something before boarding the train ride, a half day trip to My Son Sanctuary, Golden Hands Bridge, or Marble Mountains is absolutely feasible. It’s not a big problem to request Da Nang Train Station as a drop off point after the tour.
