Our guide will see you at the meeting point – Teochew Assembly Hall (Hoi quan Trieu Chau) on Nguyen Duy Hieu Street, Hoi An city. Google maps location:

Hainan Assembly Hall (pass by)

This assembly hall of Hainan Chinese congregation is built in 1875, to worship 108 Hainan brothers who died in the sea due to the attack of pirates. See more details

Minh Huong Communal House (pass by)

This temple is built in 1905 to worship ancestors of Minh Huong village, a Chinese village in Hoi An. That’s why it becomes the most important place for local Chinese people. See more details

Quan Cong Temple (pass by)

This temple is built before the 17th century by Chinese people to worship Quan Cong, a military general and god in ancient China. Today, for business people, he is a symbol of loyalty, bravery, integrity, and justice. See more details

Hoi An Central Market

Visit the oldest and biggest market in Hoi An. Here, people sell a huge variety of local products, including fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, fishes, seafood, poultries, spices, noodles, household items, lanterns,… Walk through the food hall where local women make and sell different local food and food specialties. In the front of the market, there is a ancient well that is still in use and covered by a tile pavilion. See more details

Fujian Assembly Hall

See the largest and the most richly-decorated Chinese temple in Hoi An. It boasts the glorious architecture and sophisticated wooden carvings that are made by the most skillful local craftmen. Here, the community has been worshipping Thien Hau Goddess and organized festivals to commemorate and honor her during the year. See more details

Trung Hoa Assembly Hall (pass by)

This building is constructed in the 18th century as the common assembly hall for all Chinese communities in Hoi An. Here, people worship Thien Hau Goddess or Goddess of Sea because she is the patron saint. See more details

Museum of Local Products (pass by)

This museum introduces local products in Hoi An area which Vietnamese people and foreigners sold and bought in the past centuries, when the town was an international trading port. See more details

Museum of Trade Ceramics

This museum shows you a part of the collection of sophisticated trade ceramics discovered in a shipwreck in Hoi An sea. The ceramics where one of major products to export when the town became an international trading port. See more details

Quan Thang Old House

This is one of the oldest one-story houses in Hoi An. Here, visitors have the chance to know about local traditional housing architecture and design, decorative motifs and life of the owners. Plus, watch how local ladies make white rose dumplings, a food that can not be found anywhere else in the world, except Hoi An. See more details

Yellow Alleys & Walls

One of famous places in Hoi An are yellow and small alleys. Visitors will have time to walk through one of them and take photos.

Kazik Park

This small park is built to pay homage to Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, a Polish architect and conservationist. He had amazing contributions in restoration of cultural heritages in Vietnam, especially My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town, two world heritage sites. See more details

Japanese Covered Bridge - Symbol of Hoi An

Visit the symbol of Hoi An. Spanning a small river, it’s constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people and then restored by Chinese people. Behind the bridge’s part, there is a temple where locals have worshipped Xuanwu (a Chinese general and Taoist god). One of its names is Lai Vien Kieu which means ‘the bridge that receives the guests from afar’, showing the hospitality of the locals to the foreigners. This historical and religious site is more special than any other bridges in Vietnam. See more details

This walking tour will end in the Japanese Bridge. After saying goodbye to our guide, you can freely explore the area or go back to the hotel to relax.

What to bring/wear

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash. To visit the temples, please wear respectively. In other words, make sure that the pants cover the upper knees and the shirt covers the navel, shoulders, armpits.
