History of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Da Nang
The Our Lady of the Sea is one of the holiest Catholic sites in Da Nang region, central Vietnam. In early October 2006, the Xangsane typhoon hit the city, and after that, many constructions were heavily damaged, except this statue.
Today, the Our Lady of the Sea lies within Sao Bien Park (Star of the Sea Park), in the front of Saint Paulo Monastery.

How to Get to Our Lady Star of the Sea in Da Nang
The Our Lady Star the Sea is within Sao Bien Park (Star of Sea Park) on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, My An ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city. It’s near the crossroad of Phan Tu Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Street.
From My Khe Beach area, it’s easy to go to the Our Lady Star of the Sea. Just go along the coastal road Vo Nguyen Giap Street (towards the Marble Mountains, Hoi An), and the park where it’s located, lies on the right hand side. From Da Nang city center, go cross Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge or Tran Thi Ly Bridge and then straight ahead until seeing the coastal road Vo Nguyen Giap. After that, turn right and the Our Lady of the Sea is near the crossroad of Phan Thu Street.
From Hoi An, the distance to the Our Lady Star of the Sea is around 30 kilometers. Visitors can get there by a taxi or private car/bus, or ride the motorbike by their own. The best motorbike route is the coastal road Lac Long Quan (in Da Nang, it’s named ‘Truong Sa Road’, ‘Vo Nguyen Giap Road’). The Our Lady of the Sea is within the park near Phan Thu Street crossroad (on the left hand side).
Between Hoi An and the Our Lady Star of the Sea in Da Nang, visitors will see the Marble Mountains, Am Phu Cave and Non Nuoc Beach.
