This full day tour shows you My Son Sanctuary, Marble Mountains and Big Lady Buddha, three must see attractions in Da Nang Hoi An area. In the morning, you will sightsee the largest collection of Cham towers in Vietnam today that are built from the 4th to the 14th centuries. Here, learn about history of the ancient Champa kingdom, Hinduism and sometimes the latest war in the region. In the afternoon, explore the Marble Mountains, a complex of hills that rise strikingly from the plain. It’s well known for its unique landscape, ancient Buddhist temples and amazing caves. Around its foot, Vietnamese people have carved stone sculptures for over 300 years. The last attractions are the tallest Lady Buddha in Vietnam (67 meters tall) and the largest Buddhist complex in the city where it’s located.

Our driver and guide will pick up you at your hotel in Da Nang or Hoi An city center.

My Son Sanctuary

Hidden away in the mountains, My Son Sanctuary is the holy land of Cham people who owned the Champa kingdom from the 2nd to 19th centuries. It has more than 70 buildings. The oldest one was constructed in the 4th century. Here, Shiva is the main deity. After the 14th century, My Son was abandoned and then invaded by forests. In the Vietnam War, it’s damaged by bombings from the USA air force. See more details

From the main entrance, visitors will take a transfer by buggy car to skip a 2-kilometers-long walk to the temple zone (still walk after this ride).

In My Son Sanctuary, visitors will see Temple B-C-D (the largest group), Temple A, Temple G, Temple E, Temple F and ruins along the trekking trail. See more details

Total walking distance is 2 kilometers.

Traditional Art Performance of Cham People

Have a seat, relax and watch a stunning show with performances by Cham artists. All artists will wear the traditional costume, dance or play a musical instrument. This cultural show brings the audience a good time and a chance to know better about intangible cultural heritages of Cham people who built My Son. See more details

The Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains is a group of 5 mountains that rise suddenly from the surrounding plain, near the coast. Named after the elements of Five Elements, there are ‘water’, ‘fire’, ‘wood’, ‘earth’ and ‘metal’ mountains here. To see its sights, visitors need to climb many stairs. See more details

Here is the list of places which you will visit in the Marble Mountains:

– Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village: see lots of marble sculptures that vary in size, shape and color. Local people started carving stone to make them 300 years ago and now this long-standing tradition is a national intangible cultural heritage. See more details

– Linh Ung Pagoda: the most well-known Buddhist temple in the mountain. Built in the 19th century, it’s the oldest one in three famous pagodas of the same name in the area. See more details

– Huyen Khong Cave: the biggest cave in the mountain. Visitors will be amazed by fascinating beams of light falling from its ceiling and learn about local beliefs. See more details

– Tam Thai Pagoda: one of the holiest Buddhist temples in the area. It’s constructed in the 19th century by request of Minh Mang king whose father promised to build it many years before. See more details

Linh Ung Pagoda

Linh Ung Pagoda, situated on the Son Tra Peninsula (also known as Monkey Mountain) in Da Nang, is a majestic Buddhist complex renowned for its stunning location and grand scale. The pagoda is best known as the home of the Lady Buddha statue, which, at 67 meters tall, is the highest Buddha statue in Vietnam and dominates the cityscape. Perched on a hill overlooking the East Sea, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, the mountains, and the entire coastline of Da Nang. See more details

Big Lady Buddha Statue

The Lady Buddha, or Goddess of Mercy, is an iconic 67-meter-tall statue located within the grounds of Linh Ung Pagoda on Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula. As the tallest standing Buddha statue in Vietnam, she is a spiritual landmark overlooking the city and the East Sea. Her compassionate presence is believed to protect local fishermen and the city from storms and disasters, making her a powerful symbol of peace and devotion. See more details

What to bring/wear

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash. 

To visit historical places, visitors should wear respectively. In other words, wear long pants to cover the upper knees, wear the shirt to cover shoulders, navel and armpits.
