Bicycle Rental in Hoi An
In Hoi An, there are lots of hotels providing free bicycles for the guests, therefore we recommend checking this benefit first from your hotel. During the stay, it’s needed to make sense that bicycles can be ‘reserved’ in advance or ‘come first serve first’.
If the hotel has no free bicycles, please ask for a rental or a help to hire one. The price fluctuates from 50,000 to 120,000 VND per bike per day (or 24 hours). Because the hotel has your personal information (like check out date, passport number, etc), the process will be quick.
At other places around Hoi An with bicycles for rent, visitors need to show passport or/and provide personal information (name, phone number, hotel name, room number,…).
Note: Choose a new, well-maintained bike with a front basket (to storage bags, personal items,…). Don’t forget asking for a lock.

Best Cycling Routes in Hoi An for Self Guided Visitors
An Bang Beach Route
This route is started at crossroad of Hai Ba Trung Street and Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street.
After that, to see An Bang Beach (Hoi An’s best beach), cycle along Hai Ba Trung Street until the end. Parking lots are found near the beach’s entrance, with a fee of 10,000 VND per bike per time. If want to go to a restaurant or cafe or bar, visitors can put the bike there without fee (because will order food and beverages there).
Hai Ba Trung Street is flat, not bumpy, and has a separate lane for bike. This is one of the most beautiful roads in Hoi An, especially in sunrise, sunset or rice seasons. Rice seasons are from February to April and from June to September (so if not go in these periods, visitors won’t see the rice).
Hai Ba Trung Street is a major road in Hoi An, therefore in rush hours, visitors need to go slowly and watch vehicles carefully while riding the bicycle on it. Follow the bike lane, and do not join car/bus lane for safety.
Between the starting point and An Bang Bridge (cross De Vong River), it’s possible to see rice fields, water buffalo, farmers,… To take a photo or even ride the water buffalo, please chat with local farmers (who you can meet).
If want to see herb gardens in Tra Que Vegetable Village, visitors need to turn into small lanes on right or left hand. An entrance ticket will be required to enter this village (35,000 VND per adult). It includes a cup of local specialty drink (herbal tea) and experience of watering veggies by one shoulder pole and two buckets. See more information & details
Near An Bang Beach, Hai Ba Trung Street will cross a big and busy road, so visitors need to observe carefully when cycle to the other side (a traffic light here).
