This afternoon walking tour shows you highlights of Hoi An Ancient Town, a Unesco world heritage site. It’s an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Lying in its heart, the Japanese Bridge is the most iconic building. Following Tran Phu Street, the most beautiful road in the town, see the Hoi An Central Market that is active and colorful with diverse local products. Nearby Fujian Assembly Hall boasts a grand architecture and ornate decoration that show up the wealth of Chinese communities. Museum of Folklore is the best museum in town. In each spot, your expert guide will tell interesting stories to let you understand better about local history and culture. Stop at one of the most famous Pho eateries to have breakfast like a local. Before it’s dark, enjoy a relaxing boat trip on Thu Bon River (the largest river in the area) and watch sunset.

Traditional Handicraft Workshop

Meet a local women wearing a Vietnamese traditional dress (ao dai) and listen to her explanation about long-standing handicrafts in Hoi An (including silk making, lantern making, embroidery, garment making, so on). 

Japanese Covered Bridge - Symbol of Hoi An

Visit the symbol of Hoi An. Spanning a small river, it’s constructed in the 17th century by Japanese people and then restored by Chinese people. Behind the bridge’s part, there is a temple where locals have worshipped Xuanwu (a Chinese general and Taoist god). One of its names is Lai Vien Kieu which means ‘the bridge that receives the guests from afar’, showing the hospitality of the locals to the foreigners. This historical and religious site is more special than any other bridges in Vietnam. See more details

Tan Ky Old House

Visit the most typical merchant house in Hoi An. It’s constructed in the 18th century and since then, has been nearly unchanged. In the front, this house is by a busy trading road and in the back, it opens to the quay where the boats dock. It’s furnished by fine wooden furniture and decorated by be elaborate wooden carvings and mother-of-pearl paintings. Flood levels over the years are shown in the Back hall. See more details

Fujian Assembly Hall

See the largest and the most richly-decorated Chinese temple in Hoi An. It boasts the glorious architecture and sophisticated wooden carvings that are made by the most skillful local craftmen. Here, the community has been worshipping Thien Hau Goddess and organized festivals to commemorate and honor her during the year. See more details

Museum of Folklore

Visit the best museum in Hoi An. It’s originally an old and well-preserved wooden shophouse before being a museum. The exhibitions provide the information about folk tangible and intangible cultural heritages of the area, such as Bai Choi (a traditional game and singing that was honored to be world’s intangible cultural heritage by Unesco). See more details

Hoi An Central Market

Visit the oldest and biggest market in Hoi An. Here, people sell a huge variety of local products, including fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, fishes, seafood, poultries, spices, noodles, household items, lanterns,… Walk through the food hall where local women make and sell different local food and food specialties. In the front of the market, there is a ancient well that is still in use and covered by a tile pavilion. See more details

On the way to Hoi An Central Market, you will go pass by Minh Huong Communal House and Quan Cong Temple, two important temples for local Chinese communities.

Hoi An Lantern Park

Visit one of prettiest parks in Hoi An Old Town on which local traditional craft of lantern making is honored. After opening to the public, this is one of the most favorite spots for visitors to watch sunset in the town. See more details

Sunset Boat Trip on Thu Bon River

Embark a boat trip to see sceneries along banks of Thu Bon River, the largest river in the area as well as watch sunset and take beautiful photos. One of special buildings which you will see, is the Moonlight Bridge. This pedestrian bridge has a design inspired by the full moon lantern festival in Hoi An. See more details   

Return & Drop off

The boat trip will end at Bach Dang Wharf in the Hoi An Old Town. After saying goodbye to our guide, you can freely explore the town or go back to the hotel to relax.
